BOOM. Big up to the City Of Cape Town and the Green Point CID for this awesome new initiative. No doubt the people that benefit from it the most won’t be consumers, but Hell it’s still a winner! What I meant in my last sentence was TRUTH Coffee will be blowing kisses to the government for helping to create a new buzz around their oddly placed establishment. Conveniently I may add.
The Wifi is absolutely FREE and UNLIMITED to the public who find themselves within reach of the hot spot at St Andrew’s Square, on the border of De Waterkant and Green Point. It’s that small little park vibe along the fan walk on the corner of Somerset and Chiappini!
A Word From The City Of Cape Town:
The Wi-Fi service is unlimited and users simply select “GreenPointCID- FreeWi-Fi” when they are within the effective zone. The service in Green Point mirrors a similar project in the Company Gardens and a pilot project in Khayelitsha and Mitchell’s Plain on the Cape Flats.
Thanks to 2Oceansvibe for the heads up you guys rock!
It’s great having free wifi in the CBD yes, but it’s not so great having to take shit in a portable toilet or a toilet without any walls in the townships where, believe it or not, most Cape Townians actually stay. If we can’t see that this reinforces the notion that ghe City of Cape Town is satisfied with keeping just a few privileged members of society happy instead of catering for real needs of the majority then we need to do some real soul searching. It’s sad.
dick head the toilet issue has nothing to do with providing a free wifi service in greenpoint. These are management issues not incorrect allocation of funds.
LOL indeed…
