Today Adidas launched the new Ajax Cape Town home and away kit for the upcoming 2013/14 season. I just got home from the press conference and my oh my, we are in for a treat! This year’s classically-styled home jersey and exciting away jersey will be sure to please the players and loyal Ajax CT fans.
I was especially happy with the new away kit, definitely going to get my hands on that one too. Just a thanks to Adidas for the invite, plus my brand new home jersey which I can represent at home games and around the Mother City! It was great to meet the news signings Nathan Paulse, Dominic Isaacs and Franklin Cale.
Not so much new faces around Ikamva, as they have all had previous stints with the club. The new owners brought them back to provide some stability after battling relegation last season! They have also called up Brandon Petersen (GK), Taasriq Morris (STR), Matthew Rowell (RB), Bantu Mzwakali (CM) and Michael Kwong (RM/LM) from the Copa Amsterdam Championship winning youth side.
New coach Muhsin Ertugral also said 3 more players will be signed soon, hinting that Khama Billiat was on his way to “greener pastures”. He is by far our best attacking player, but I have a feeling Franklin Cale may well fill the void left by Khama, and, he offers us more stability going back. I’m hoping we sign another goalkeeper, centre back and pacey striker with talk that Clayton Daniels may return. He would be a great addition to the squad!
