You all know how much I dig my electronic music, and, to be honest the Cape Town music scene in general. Whether it be a trance party, and outdoor festival, a jol at a club or just a random night out on the piss you can bet your bottom dollar I will be down. The Cape Town Electronic Music Festival (CTEMF) is the celebration of a scene coming of age. It marks the point at which the Electronic Music Scene in South Africa has been recognized by itself and beyond as an industry that has reached the state of being self-sustainable. It is about time we together drive this scene into the future to match that of some of the top destinations in the World like Ibiza! It’s not like we lack the talent when it comes to artists…
The festival will kick off on from the 27th – 29th of March with a number of talks from top industry players. What you can expect from these 3 days will include:
Tuesday 27 March | Business Of Music: The Music Industry Landscape
Wednesday 28 March | Notes For Notes: Earning A Living In Music
Thursday 29 March | Mixed Messages: Modern Music Media
For the more party orientated consumers, the jol really gets going on the 30th March and goes right through until the 1st April. There are some fantastic artists including some of South Africa’s top names… I suggest you get your dancing shoes and spare livers out for this one because these 3 days are guaranteed to test even the sickest Cape Town jollers.
