WIN Tickets To Rocking The Daisies [closed]

I attended my very first Rocking The Daisies last year, and, I can safely say it is very high on my list of must attend events for this season! It offers something different, more interactive than what I am used to at outdoor trance parties. There are families, brands activation’s, prize give-away’s and the setup is absolutely awesome. They also cater for two different crowds with their main stage being focussed on bands and live performances, whilst the electro dome houses the electronic artists and DJ’s! This year BLOC PARTY will be headlining the event, which should be something pretty special live!

Each year there are changes, new additions and farewells, but one thing is for sure… it only gets better! The most notable change is that Rocking the Daisies will be opening the camping area on Thursday evening for all those keen party animals looking to set up before the weekend, plus there will be campsite entertainment to enjoy. Festival stage times have also changed with an earlier start on Friday and an earlier close on Sunday. For all the line up times and event information, please click [here]. One again the amazing Cloof Wine Farm in Darling will be the venue, which is great news! Follow them on Twitter @RockingTheDaisy and use the #RTD2012 hash tag when chatting about the event!

COMPETITION TIME:

After experiencing RTD 2011 for my first time, I thought running a competition would be a great way to provide this opportunity to some others who have never been exposed to it’s awesomeness! So the guys and girls over at Rocking The Daisies have given my two tickets to give away to two lucky readers!

Last year I also attended my 1st RTD & that was the weekend “Yoyo” was born. Yoyo meaning “you’re on your own”. I loved the vibe, the kamaradie, the fact that people were like “hey I’m so and so, nice to meet you” and then proceed to pour alcohol in your glass. I loved how the rugby brought a moerse lot of Saffas and non Saffas together for a beer in front of the stage, and boy oh boy, the hottest guys go to daisies!
    Would love to go again!

The one thing that makes RTD amazing for me? FREEDOM to do what I want!

  3. Dean van Rooyen September 24, 2012 at 11:30 am #

Perfect intro into summer festival !!!

New artists get a chance to make a name !!

Red bull tent gonna be INSANE !!!!

And the best part !!! BLOC PARTY !!!!

This is the summer intro festival and is gonna be insane !!

Free ticket would help me spend more cash on booze for other people 😉

My friend Paul once said that waking up at a festival tends to leave your mouth tasting like a hobo took a nice long nap in it.

Just putting it out there that the free gum at RTD last year was a definite highlight.
Not to mention the crazy ridiculous music, vibe and organisation.

  5. Teagan Paul September 24, 2012 at 11:31 am #

Everything. From the music, stores, venue, people, atmosphere. There’s nothing else like it in Cape Town. Its the best!

  6. Michelle September 24, 2012 at 11:35 am #

I love the vibe! Its the first festival of the ‘season’ and it’s always only a week after my Bday.
RTD always marks the start of the Summer party season for me!!
Aaaand, the fact that they always have such AMAZING acts on ALL the stages (not just the main stage like so many ‘lesser’ festivals). Sometimes makes it difficult to choose which act to support but I love having that dilemma! 😀

  7. tarryn September 24, 2012 at 11:35 am #

Rocking the daisies is the best because you get to experience rad music with good friends!! This will be the 1st RTD I am able to attend and I know its going to be sooo cool!! One of my besties really wants to go and I would love to surprise her 😀

  8. Luke Wright September 24, 2012 at 11:36 am #

The one thing that makes Rocking The Daisies so insane to remember for me was the first time i went (about 5 years ago), I cycled up with a group of about 70 people and can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life, made some new friends along the way aswell.. So that alone made head the weekend off to a great start. then when we got there the weather was awsome. people were partying and it was just one of those places everyone should want to be!!

  9. andrew boyce September 24, 2012 at 11:39 am #

the thing that WILL make RTD the most epic party ever for me is that it is my 21st birthday at RTD!!!!!

i have convinced many people from all over cpt to come and celebrate at RTD with me.

Your 21st birthday only happens once and the fact that ive chosen RTD to celebrate it shows how amped i am for this party.

ive never been to RTD but from the things i have heard, i know this party is going to be thee MOST epic party of my year.

PLEASE let me win tickets to this and let my 21st birthday be celebrated in style at a next level party. make my year!

  11. Sihle Mkhize September 24, 2012 at 11:41 am #

I’ve never been to a dasies and would love to experince this awesomeness first hand.
    🙂

  12. Sasha Reddy September 24, 2012 at 11:45 am #

Well this being my first Rocking the Daisies, I look forward to experiencing the amazing music and vibe. Of course meeting the other peeps at this festival would not only make my first time at this event a lot better but I would be making memories which will forever be imprinted in my mind 🙂

  13. James Oosterbaan September 24, 2012 at 11:45 am #

It is amazing because it is a full weekend that I can spend jamming with my mates to great music, not having to worry about a thing in the world! 🙂

  14. jessica sloan September 24, 2012 at 11:50 am #

The thing is I wish I could tell you what makes RTD amazing bt unfortunately I have never been to one before! Cuz havnt had the cash, So the tickets would be awesome becuz I can finally experience wat a jol it is! 🙂

  15. Bianca Moksha September 24, 2012 at 11:51 am #

Last year I worked at RTD in the man zone but what I loved was the people, vibe and the music.
Was amazing just getting to chill in the sun by the dam. All the people with there lilo’s/pirate ships has made me want to buy myself an animal shaped lilo for this year’s one.
It is awesome get lost in the masses of people and just walking around trying to take everything in.
There is so much do to which makes it so great.

  16. Anya Gerber September 24, 2012 at 11:54 am #

I would definatly have to say the Freedom that comes with RTD. Ultimately its all about the music, it represents that music is not what we do but rather its who we are. Finally how could I forget Jamming to some tunes and having a great time with your friends part.

  17. Ali Bester September 24, 2012 at 11:55 am #

What makes RTD for me is the fact that on a wine farm in the middle of nowhere (thinking from the worlds perspective) there are thousands and thousands of people having the most incredible time in little south africa. It just baffles me how such an amazing music festival is offered here especially with Bloc Party headlining 😀

  18. sandi September 24, 2012 at 11:57 am #

So I went to RTD about 4 years ago… And it was shocking ended up all alone for 99% of the time BUT I met awesome people, tanned, jammed to amazing music and went absolutely wild and met new friends.

Why do I want to go again? New experience this time… Whole bunch of mates are going except me…and I think its about time that I go again and have a LEGENDARY weekend and the start to partyyyy season!

Best thing about daisies? There is no best thing… Everything is just absolutely amaze! So I think I should follow the craze!

  19. Kylie Holly Day September 24, 2012 at 11:58 am #

Been so extremely keen for Daisies this year since I couldn’t go last year! Bloc Party has got to be one of my favs and I’m too stoked to see them! Grandmaster Flash, KOAN Sound, just, oh my god. Hook a sister up 😉

  20. Kashmiri September 24, 2012 at 12:00 pm #

RTD is great coz it gives you a whole weekend of awesome music, with some of my fav bands usually there (Number 1 being Prime Circle for me) 😀

  21. Matthew Deacon September 24, 2012 at 12:01 pm #

Hmmm, I must say the best things of RTD has got to be the line-up! As you mentioned, you will love the festival whether you’re massively into your EDM or if you keen on hearing your favourite bands!

I would definitely say RTD is Cape Towns best festival and is our closest competitor to international events! I will love to see how this event is going to grow over the next few years, but I expect it to get even more massive!

It’s also a great way to catch up with old friends as SOOOO many people are going that I haven’t seen in ages!

I wasn’t able to afford tickets this year, but am really so keen on going! Please help me out here! 😀

  22. Jacques Bester September 24, 2012 at 12:02 pm #

If its anything like RTD11 there’s going to be , literally, thousands of beautiful bodied ladies walking-swimming-dancing-lying around in just bikini’s… BRING ON BIKINI WEATHER!

  23. Robyn Britz September 24, 2012 at 12:03 pm #

Rocking the Daisies is my type of music festival, bands, music-with-words, all round fun! Great time camping, running in the daisies (or purple flower weeds haha) and splashing in the ice cold dam! Dirty feet, drinking warm wine (because you have no other option), waking up on a deflated blow up mattress or even on the sand outside someone else’s tent that kind of doesn’t even look anything like mine. Its a mess but in so many ways its amazing, daisies, caring for the earth, the daisy den (aka heaven), beautiful colours all around and BLOC PARTY – who are going to be AMAZING – cannot wait another second!

I would love a chance to get crazy again this year at RTD with my lady friends – I smashed my iPhone up a little and the repair set me back so winning a ticket would help me get there! Ta :):):) xx

  24. Danielle Olivier September 24, 2012 at 12:03 pm #

What is there not to love about Rocking The Daisies? Having never been and at the moment, dreaming of going I can only imagine the dips in the dam, babes in bikinis, musically talented dudes and dudettes, summer air, black labels, excitement (BLOC PARTY & KONGOS in the lineup), a sea of tents and smiling festival faces mixed up in a giant melting pot of the greatest weekend to come.

MR.CAPE TOWN, make my dreams come true!

  25. helen lewis September 24, 2012 at 12:07 pm #

    Hi Mr Cape Town.
My hubby and I are all but finished raising our six children (this definitely should get us a vote)! Now we are fifty (which should get a bonus point), and I’m sad to say we have never, ever been to something like this. My husband’s a muso, never without a guitar in his hand (except when he’s at school, teaching) (bonus, bonus points). We have a tent, and we promise we won’t scare the kids. Please pick us for Rocking the Daisies! We don’t have much time left….. 😀

  26. TAMARA September 24, 2012 at 12:08 pm #

    THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!
If you want to take break from the music, you can chill by the dam and run across the water in hamster wheels.

If you keen for some Balkon Folk there is a little haven stage made especially for you.

Want to go wild and lost your friends?, Red Bull/Electro tent is the place for you

    and last but not least

The common ground main stage where we’ve been lucky enough to see some of the most amazing international and South African bands.

    RDT 2012!!

  27. Francesca September 24, 2012 at 12:08 pm #

I HAVE NEVER!! BEEN TO ROCKING THE DAISIES!!!!:( I have never been able to go because of my studies not allowing me to.. I have been working so hard and i really need this 1 weekend where all my favourite Bands and DJs are playing, so i can let my hair down and experience this amazing festival with all my mates:)

Please can I have a free ticket …. I so badly want to go…but i dont have any moola…I will literally do anything for these tickets!!!! I will even write an article for your blog!!!!

I want to party hard and tread lightly at this amazing festival!!!!

PLEASE @Mr. Cape town and @Dylan Moore….PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

  28. tate September 24, 2012 at 12:14 pm #

I went to rocking the daisies two years ago, and it was the most unbelievable experience ever. unfortunately last year, and this year i dont have the cash to go so a ticket would be AMAZING!
i think ill be cliche and also be realistic and say that the one thing that makes the festival is the music. this is purely because you get to experience south african artists playing live. Its an amazing experience to see all your favourite electro djs and bands for three days ! and then with having BLOC PARTY , the experience is going to be even better !
its my boyfriends 21st, so to be able to give him a ticket would honestly be fantastic, because i definitely cannot afford buying two tickets 🙁
please help me out and help me spend the weekend with him as well as see the crazy bands and djs that they have arranged. i even drew a picture http://welovehumphry.blogspot.com/2012/09/bloc-partyumphry.html to make super effort to try and win tickets because i am so desperate and reeeeeaaaaallllly want to be there this year !!
    PLEEEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSEEEEE!

  29. Alex Blair September 24, 2012 at 12:19 pm #

I’m a Durban girl 🙂 I have never been to Rocking The Daisies! I heard Cape Town people know how to party. Please give me tickets and prove me right 😀

  30. Banzi Kasana September 24, 2012 at 12:38 pm #

First of all I’ve never had the opportunity to experience the insane ROCKING THE DAISIES….but this year I’d love nothing but to go to RTD with my bestfriend. I’ve heard nothing but insane stories about RTD and the thought of being out at a massive farm over a weekend with nothing but beautiful people and hectic trance music, it makes me feel like the only thing that would actually make me happy in this life is to klap RTD with my bestfriend….the reason why I would like free tickets is because I don’t have money to buy RTD tickets and this sounds to good to be true! I ask you this one thing Mr Cape Town

  31. Daniella Krinsky September 24, 2012 at 12:44 pm #

For RTD 2011 I only had time to go on the Saturday. Ended up staying till really late but provisioned no tent. Woke up Sunday morning alone in a random tent with a duvet and pillow. I never got to thank those kind people who helped me out. And I think the best part was how early everyone got up to watch the rugby game and support SA, so much gees.

Out of all the fest’s I went to last year; Daisies, for me, was by far the best. And I’d love to relive the awesome vibes of running to every different stage every hour to check out my fav bands and artists. And meeting randoms all over the place.

Also my first year exams are starting in a month and it would be great to have a short break before studying my ass off 😛

  32. Kirsten-Tyler September 24, 2012 at 12:45 pm #

Rocking The Daisies? Having never been and at the moment, dreaming of going I can only imagine the thrilling times of the weekends festivities.Mr. Cape Town, there is A LOT to love about rocking the daisies, it’s not easy to sum it up. I love the openness, the grass in between my toes, tents everywhere and benevolent faces all around, talent, music, thrill all packed into one meeting point and all the fun under the sun in one place. Pick me to join all those funky people for a weekend of pure euphoria!

  33. Samir Daniels September 24, 2012 at 1:02 pm #

RTG will give Matrics a great chance to chill out 2 weeks before their finals. Give us a chance to blow off some steam. :). Really Excited about RTD2012

  34. Courtney September 24, 2012 at 1:10 pm #

I haven’t yet attended Rocking the Daisies due to my studies having taken over my life in early October every year til now, so this will be my very first experience! What appeals to me most about the event is the wide range of musical tastes it appeals to (bands, electro, live performances, drum and bass… what more could anyone need out of an outdoor music festival!?), the ensuing diverse crowd must be just wonderful, NOT TO MENTION.. the absolutely awesome lineup this year! Bloc Party – yes please!

I liked, followed and retweeted all the necessary – the full house 🙂

  35. Dune Spence-Ross September 24, 2012 at 1:19 pm #

Sadly I still have not been too a RTD!! This is the first year where my work is not preventing me from enjoying ” one of the most incredible experiences ever” – which is what I hear from my friends, along with their crazy stories and experiences!- which I am hoping to be experiencing myself with all of you at this years RTD!! New stories to be made and smiles to pass on 🙂 xx

  36. Nikita Olsen September 24, 2012 at 2:13 pm #

I have yet to experience the insane awesomeness of RTD. Would absolutely love to go!!! Only heard amazing things about this festival, really really dont want to miss out again this year.

I think the thing I am most excited about is 1. Bloc Party is headlining!!!!! and 2. Super proud of our very own Christain Tiger School, who are also performing, for making it so big in such a short time. Would love to see them perform at an outdoor 🙂

Summer is comiiing and what better way than to spend the weekend in Darling, jamming to the sickest beats and supporting our local artists. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE 😉

  37. Marie Vink September 24, 2012 at 2:14 pm #

The one thing that makes Rocking the Daisies amazing for me, is that there is not just one thing to be excited for- there’s sooooo many things… I have never been to this event, so when I found out Bloc Party was playing (I LOVE them!) – I immediately went to have a look at the festival… I think the thing that stood out the most for me, is the focus on looking after the environment- I especially love the festival’s mission: “We aim to host a premier music and lifestyle festival in an environmentally and social responsible manner under the motto of ‘Play Hard, Tread Lightly’.” This is especially important for me, because, as a trance lover, looking after the environment is something close to my heart… and so is partying hard ;-), which I hope I can get the chance to do… and one more thing… I am TOO EXCITED for the Lemon Tree Theatre (especially Rob Van Vuuren!)- I think all festivals in the future should have a comedy tent- this sounds like it’s going to be AMAZING 🙂

  38. Alex September 24, 2012 at 3:28 pm #

Without a doubt, it’s the electro tent that is the cherry on top, of what is an awesome festival cake!

  39. Candice Milstein September 24, 2012 at 3:37 pm #

Rocking The Daisies 2011 was my first FESTIVAL EVER! It was so truly amazing, the talent, the food, the vibe: No words can come close to even describing it. My boyfriend and I were newly dating, and it was definitely the weekend where we learnt the most about each other, learnt that mixing Bacardi with Lemon Crush results into a more sophisticated taste of Sunlight Liquid, and that ice-cream was definitely the best brekkie food. I also managed to drop my camera in a pot of water when in a sober state, and then when partying too much like a pirate, Spiced Gold got the better of me and lead me to passing out when leaning in for a kiss.
We were such bright sparks, we forgot to pack in any boardies/shorts, so even though we had just started dating, I wet my whole head under the tap as attractively as I could (Imagine squishing your face together, trying not to let water make your masacra run and trying to make your butt not look so “out there” and failing at it – not very sexy, I must admit) and the wetting of the hair turned my GHD look into a more Tina Turner ‘fro once it had dried. But my boyfriend stood by my side! True love right there.
Colourful daisies, a huge main stage overflowing with incredible talent, music soaring around us, all situated under Africa’s night sky. We supported as many stalls as we could, bought matching t-shirts, and even stood in the queue for an hour to reach the ATM to buy even more memorable things.
Losing our tent, finding it again, waking up to people loving being outside, loving life and friendliness all around, we would LOVE to experience SA’s TOP Festival this year!
We have been working extremely hard in the hospitality industry, and this is the perfect excuse to let our hair down, go wild with fellow daisy-rockers and to make RTD ’12 an UNFORGETTABLE ONE! Whooooo Hooooooo!

    \m/ xoxo

  40. Greg Boyle September 24, 2012 at 4:20 pm #

Mr.Cape Town! It has come to my attention that my all time favourite funk blasting duo Koan Sound are giving everyone the pleasure of some hectic eargasms, please let me cum.

  41. Nic September 24, 2012 at 4:34 pm #

Spliff in the Left-hand, bottle of Zamalek in the Right-hand, Zotness in the Head, is the experience that im looking forward to again @ RTD2012.

  42. Adam de carvalho September 24, 2012 at 4:37 pm #

Rocking The Daisies is the only music festival where people can be set free and are truly allowed to be themselves without any worries. The only way I can end off an amazing but very difficult year would be to tick daisies off my list 🙂 please I am a huge fan of all music and will never let the opportunity go to waste 🙂 x

  43. Carl Holman September 24, 2012 at 5:02 pm #

I’ve been to other music festivals around Cape Town and they have without a doubt been some of the best experiences of my life. Recently though, a friend told me that Rocking the Daisies was his favorite.
I think he’s right, with a line-up like that you can’t go wrong!

    Help a brother out 😀

  44. gabi tredoux September 24, 2012 at 5:24 pm #

I have never been to Rocking The Daisies before, and would honestly love to go more than anything else.
Bloc Party playing there is literally the best thing I’ve ever heard, and after a Rezonance and Earthdance experience, I think this would be absolutely amazing, along with the kind of people who attend these! I REALLY WANNA GO!

  45. Cassidy Jerram September 24, 2012 at 5:40 pm #

I have never been to RTD before and would love to experience the amazing event, that would be so awesome 🙂 the fact that something like RTD is happening makes it amazing for me.

  46. Simoa September 24, 2012 at 6:02 pm #

The thing that makes Rocking the Daisies the best for me is the fact everybody from different backgrounds, cultures and social standings can come together and create the greatest vibe and unity known. (Plus the big side fact that Bloc Party are my favourite band!)

  47. savannah September 24, 2012 at 7:03 pm #

I have never been to Rocking the Daisies, and i have been dying to go for sometime now!!! to be able to win a ticket to such an awesome party really would be so so great!! :D:D:D:D

  48. Rachel ward September 24, 2012 at 7:14 pm #

Rocking the daisies is amazing for me because I have never ever been to a outdoor party, I know it’s sad and embaressing. I deserve this ticket! 😛

  49. Gabi Roumega September 24, 2012 at 8:38 pm #

Rocking the Daisies for me is so amazing because you can’t help but just be happy when you’re there. As a tradition, when we arrive at Daisies, we start a game of Kings with our usual group of about six people, when we finish, we are usually a group of about twenty. Random people join in on the fun and it’s just a place where every one is on a good vibe and you end up making great friends with people you would never usually meet 🙂

Havn’t been able to afford a ticket yet, so here’s to hoping 🙂

  50. Mys_tree September 24, 2012 at 9:41 pm #

The cleanliness definitely sets this festival apart for me. They are about green and it very evident.

The daisy-den, I would live in there if I could. My flat isn’t half that amazing.

So many different stages – different genre music, comedy, short films – something for everyone.

The dam – much needed with last years 30+ degree weather.

I could do without the dreadlock-envy though. Way too many people with dreadlocks that look way better than mine…

In closing, the one thing that makes RTD amazing for me, is everything!

  51. siam-mari September 25, 2012 at 1:10 am #

I’ve never been to Daisies before, sadly. I hear its quite amazing. It would be so lovely if I win this ticket. Need a break from the big bad city soon. Need a party.

  52. Francesca September 25, 2012 at 8:24 am #

YOH! What makes Daisies special for me? Well the way I’m going to make it the best weekend of the year is to:

    1) Buy a big tube and gooi it in the dam, grab a couple of friends and just drift around on the water.

    2) I remember when Ready D came in 2010 and blew my mind but now they bringing in Grandmaster Slam! Amazing hip hop beatz DOUBLED!

    3) When Bloc Party plays Modern Love, I’m going to kiss the hottest dude next to me.

I know you asked for just 1 thing, but this weekend really will be an incredibly banging one with my raddest friends, copious drinks, pool time, tan time, and of course music time.

    Would dig to win!

  53. Nico September 25, 2012 at 8:47 am #

RTD representst the begining of summer and all the extras that are attached.

There is sun, water, swim suits and freaking awesome music.

Bloc Party is going to be huge.

  54. jess graham September 25, 2012 at 9:30 am #

So I’ve just finished my matric prelims! Have 2 weeks of holidays before finals start and yet it feels like I haven’t caught a break yet. Have spent my entire holiday so far in tuts and at work. I missed Earthdance already! PLEASE help me out here and let me join my friends in this crazy celebration before finals

  55. BenThereDoneThat September 25, 2012 at 9:32 am #

Ive never been to Rocking the Daisies , so I wouldnt know what the best part about RTD is :\

but if I had to guess, it would be the music since ive seen the lineup and its POTENT!

  56. Jonathan Garisch September 25, 2012 at 9:48 am #

I can’t really say because I have never been, but if its anything close to Synergy then its more than straight down my alley. If I were to pretend i’ve been before i’d say that the weather, location, live acts, people and vibe would be what makes RTD amazing!

  57. Mish (bloz lippe) September 25, 2012 at 10:23 am #

RTD would be amazing for me cause it would be my first time. Not only first time at RTD but first time at a really awesome festival. I want to experience the awesomeness that everyone always goes on about.
And the fact that it’s in the bush (for me anything not in a hotel or my house is the bush) is a biggie for me seeing as this is something completely out of my usual surroundings.
    *holding thumbs*

  58. khaya September 25, 2012 at 10:43 am #

I have never been to RTD so I cannot say what I love about it, so it would be completely amazing if I could win a ticket to experience my first one! I am completely frothing to attend but thanks to being a student money is tight! I would give anything to watch one of my favourite bands of all time, BLOC PARTY, perform! So please please please give me the tickets and I am sure that a year from now I will be able to list 100 things that I completely love about rocking the daisies!!
    Peace love and music

What makes rocking the daisies amazing for me is… The live performances, meeting people from all over SA! never been and would love to go , heard so much about it!!!And i would love to try one of those hamster wheels out:D .. BEST!

  60. Andrea September 25, 2012 at 11:05 am #

The one thing about RTD that I would chose as a seriously epic component has GOT to be that dam! Hangover cure, refreshing, splashing away in the sun and napping on lilos.

Sipping on drinks at the beach bar, catching a tan, fooling around with friends whilst listening to the bass reverberating through your cool body from the main stage.

Somehow my bath tub aint gonna crack it…so please please give me a ticket!

You know imma dive in head first! 😀

    Andy

  61. Ryan September 25, 2012 at 11:16 am #

Iv’e never been to an outdoor before and figured this could be my 1st… I reckon if i can save on a ticket ill have extra cash to make it an even insaner weekend and get my outdoor career to a ‘rocking’ start

  62. Danielle September 25, 2012 at 11:43 am #

    THE DAM.
    PAPSAK.
    THE ELECTRO DOME.
    CIGGATREATS.
    EVERYONE IS YOUR FRIEND.

    Make my weekend come truuuuue.
    Please and thank you.
    🙂

  63. Peter September 25, 2012 at 12:14 pm #

This will be my first festival since moving down to cape town. A festival in Cape Town/Darling can only be amazing! Amazing bands with amazing friends and amazing drinks couldn’t be at a more amazing time. Lets do this, AMA ZING

  64. Valesca September 25, 2012 at 12:23 pm #

Every year I say I am going to Rocking the Daisies and every year something comes up. But not this year!! It’s my birthday weekend and I will be celebrating it at RTD! Cannot imagine any place better. Only one problem. My best friend is flying down from germany to celebrate with me, but has not yet found the money to buy a ticket. It would make my ENTIRE year if I won just one ticket! Make my birthday one that I will NEVER forget 😀

  65. ray September 25, 2012 at 12:41 pm #

dancing, all night and all day the music coursing through your entire body and radiating within your soul. sound corny but thats the way it feels when you are surrounded by great tunes, chillling vibes and amazing people.
Plus it will be my very first RTD, i hope.

  66. Garth September 25, 2012 at 12:48 pm #

The ONE thing that makes Daisies for me as odd as it sounds, getting goefed with friends and sitting in the comedy tent/barn appreciating SA’s best comedy and laughing till we can’t anymore.

  67. Brauer September 25, 2012 at 1:12 pm #

I just wanna watch Blasich outdo his epic start to season so far! Missed him in his orange overall at ED! Make it happen!

  68. sarah harwin September 25, 2012 at 1:17 pm #

Rocking The Daisies has to be one of the best festivals around! Nothing is better than rocking out to your favourite bands while sipping on a brewsky and enjoying your friends company. This one of a kind festival truly is a unique experience and should not be missed and that’s why I would love to win tickets! ROCK ON

  69. Kale Tyler Brower September 25, 2012 at 1:17 pm #

The thing that makes RTD amazing to me is the crazy amount of organisation that goes into it from the decor to the daisy den and never ever disappoints.
I get to be free and do what I want. 🙂

The thing that makes THIS Rocking The Daisies amazing is that Bloc Party is going to be performing as well as over 100 acts. I might just die if I don’t get to experience it this year…
    I need to be there!

  70. Erin Fay September 25, 2012 at 1:19 pm #

I’ve never been to a Rocking The Daisies festival before, so I guess everything is going to make it AMAZING!! 🙂

Send me, send MEEEEEE!! Please… 😉

  71. Matt September 25, 2012 at 1:27 pm #

This will be my First Rocking the Dasies so nothing makes it special yet. I did attend Sewing the Seeds, which is hosted by the same people and is the Joburg alternative 🙂 it was amazing! Heard Jeremy Loops play for the first time which blew my mind. He became one of the reasons I moved here, to catch his gigs. The rest was drunken fun, passing out in the boiling tent!

  72. Stella September 25, 2012 at 1:29 pm #

I haven’t been to a Rocking of the Daisies as of yet, and every year I feel incredibly left out when all my girlfriends come back with the greatest of stories and memories that they have been created! Being a student, and a lack of funds being a daily torment, I think this year I should win these tickets, join my girlfriends and finally experience the beloved Daisies!

Desperado doesn’t even explain it and FOMO will be an understatement if I don’t win 🙂 Plus, I’ve liked and followed Mr CPT from day one! :p

    Make my day paaalease x

  73. Brad September 25, 2012 at 1:33 pm #

I’ve personally never been to a RTD before but at this one I want to Rock those Daisies so hard that the King of rock n roll, Elvis, gets reincarnated for the weekend with Cloof Wine Farm as his Queen and Darling his kingdom. We will be the servants to the ROCK! . . . I think this will make RTD amazing for EVERYONE.

    Rock ock ock ock!

  74. Reece September 25, 2012 at 1:35 pm #

Beer!!! So where do I collect the tickets ?

  75. Sarah Mackenzie September 25, 2012 at 1:36 pm #

I have never been to Rocking the Daisies but would be the most awesome experience and exactly what the doctor ordered to Kick off summer outdoor jolling for me!!!!

  76. Ryan Wallace September 25, 2012 at 1:43 pm #

I’ve never been to Rocking the Daisies, but I’ve heard about how clean and ‘green’ this festival is. If there’s one thing that I cannot stand it’s when you’re at a festival and the facilities makes it look like you’re partying in fucking kayalitsha. I would love to go and check out this year’s RTR to see exactly how clean the place is. That, and to lose my tits at the electro stage like I usually do at these festivals!

  77. Ans September 25, 2012 at 1:46 pm #

The most amazing thing about Rocking the Daisies is that I can wake up in the dam on an octopus-shaped lilo wearing nothing but an oversized aKing t-shirt and sombrero and clutching a 2L coke bottle filled with vodka, yet no one judges me.

    What an awesome festival.

  78. Mia September 25, 2012 at 1:52 pm #

LAST YEAR DAISIES WAS THE BEST WEEKEND OF 2011.

THIS YEAR IS GOING TO BE EVEN BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(If I can somehow get a ticket. Being a student is soooo difficult on the pocket!)

PLZ MAKE MY DREAM COME TRUE AND HELP ME SEE KELE AND BLOC PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    (yolo)

    PLEASE?
    PLZ?
    Pretty please?
    PL$$$$$$?????????

    <3 <3 <3

  79. thyme rightford September 25, 2012 at 1:55 pm #

I have heard that rocking the daisies is the best festival and it is one of the festivals I have never been to. Please give me these tickets so that I can share the experience that you have experienced. Bloc party is my absolute favourite and I would love to see them live. Please please !

  80. Mia September 25, 2012 at 2:02 pm #

I know my name is MIA,

but please don’t let me be MISSING IN ACTION at Rocking the Daisies.

(see, I just stooped that low to make a joke… That is how desperate I am!!!!!)

  81. Julz September 25, 2012 at 2:04 pm #

I went to the very first one way back when and carried on for 4 years after that…but it now just cuts way into my budget. Back when I went, it was R230 a ticket…ah the good old days!!!!!! I should win as well, let’s be honest here, I need to recapture my youth one more time before I turn 30 in December! ha ha

  82. Dylan Petersen September 25, 2012 at 2:19 pm #

yoh yoh yoh. the weird and borderline mental things I’d do to get these tickets! You see I’m coloured and I’m just trying to set a new trend for my brothers with no front teeth. I’m tired of the jordans, hair curlers & going to the “gala” (Galaxy, for those who don’t know). have you ever tried to explain the different types of electro or let alone what electro music is to coloured people? I thought not. so all I’m trying to do is you know, spread some diversity, new south africa and all. hybrids and shit. daisies. intergration. awe swing them Rocking the Daisies 2012 tickets this way if you get a chance yo!

  83. miche shamrock September 25, 2012 at 2:26 pm #

it will be my first time going to RTD but i have tp say planning for it alone has got my every waking moment dedicated to it.
from thinking of what kind of tent to live in, from building a little community where my friends and i will camp out, to the late night magical wonders i cannot wait to get down and dirty going back to the roots of life.

  84. Sebastian Steyn September 25, 2012 at 2:54 pm #

I have been going to outdoor parties for 5 years now, and every year when Rocking the Daisies comes around i feel this massive urge to drop everything, forget about next months rent/food and just go and lose my mind on the dancefloor! yet im sad to say every year my rational mind kicks in (and the fear of being kicked out of my flat) – please make it possible for me to go?! this would be the first time ever going to this awesome event, and all I ever hear is how much i missed out! Please let me be that lucky guy who can shout out I WON I WON!!!!! ill be front center, with a HUGE MR.Cape Town sign *hint hint promo time! :P* rocking it out like crazy! Please Mr.Cape town!!!! you would make my year!! 😀 😀
    peace

  85. Nadine Aucamp September 25, 2012 at 3:02 pm #

I’ve never been to RTD and I had to cancel my plans to go this year because I can’t afford it. PLEASE give me the tickets so I can also experience the unforgettable RTD!

  86. Jamey September 25, 2012 at 3:35 pm #

It’s THE Summer Festival of the year, and i’ve never attended one as of yet. I have always been the friend who can never afford to go…so sad but true…It would be a dream come true.

  87. david cohen September 25, 2012 at 3:44 pm #

Sadly i have never had a chance to go to rocking the daisies and hopefully this is my chance 😀 heard it is the best outdoor festival in cape town and would love to test that comment in person!

  88. Ashleigh September 25, 2012 at 3:51 pm #

The lack of dust in comparison to OppiKoppi 😛 othing tops it!!! 😀

  89. dell September 25, 2012 at 3:52 pm #

What makes Rocking The Daisies so amazing is that it is one of the most innovative and creative festivals in South Africa. It appeals to a large spectrum of people and it includes all genre’s of music from stand up comedy and heavy metal. Depending on whatyou like and what you prefer it is very likely that they will have it. Its amazing because it can also bring people together and it can introduce people to things they never knew they liked.

Please consider me. I would absolutely do ANYTHING to attend RTD.

    Thaaanks xxx

  90. Lily September 25, 2012 at 4:05 pm #

What makes Rocking The Daisies amazing for me is waking up in the morning after dancing all night to my favourite local bands live, to lie on the lake and anticipate another night of mindblowingly fun music and jamming.

  91. Armand Swart September 25, 2012 at 4:12 pm #

    I’ve never been to RTD!

The Monday after is my final essay submission date for my honours year. Going to RTD will be the ultimate excuse not submit my coursework [and try come up with an equally creative excuse].

Of course there are a million other reasons:
Bloc Party/Cape Town/Sun/Drinks//hot boys/pretty girls/Friends/would liderally be the best ever!

  92. Maxine September 25, 2012 at 4:22 pm #

I have NEVER been to RTD, :(:(
so this will be my first time experiencing the mayhem!!
so keen to see what all the fuss is about and have a complete jol with all my bests!

  93. Ross Michelmore September 25, 2012 at 4:40 pm #

Bloc Party at RTD would be the most amazing thing to me however I haven’t had the opportunity to experience RTD. I am a HUGE fan of Bloc Party, so please help me experience the joy of a 1st RTD experience along with my favourite band.

  94. Laura Bartlett September 25, 2012 at 5:15 pm #

I have unfortunately never been able to attend RTD and there’s nothing I’d like to experience more than to kick start summer with good vibes, good people, good music and good drinks. From what I’ve heard from friends who attend RTD religiously ever year I’m quite sure its something not to be missed and yes this year I do have the case of FOMO (fear of missing out) 😛 The exciting thought of spending 4 whole days just rocking out to what looks like an insane line up drives me to madness at the thought that I’ve never been able to attend this intense event. To everyone going, make it time to remember to all those first timers like me 😛 send me on to the one and only ROCKING THE DAISIES!!! 😉 yeah!

  95. Megan Hamilton September 25, 2012 at 6:35 pm #

2012 will be the start of new things for myself and most importantly will be me breaking my Rocking The Daisies virginity!! I’ve only ever been told stories of how amazing of an experiance it is and I cannot imagine any better way to make 2012 a year to remember and for me to experiance my first outdoor festival with only the best. These tickets would mean the world to anyone I’m sure, but to me even more so as a first timer!

  96. charlie bredell September 25, 2012 at 6:44 pm #

Sun, beers, sunglasses, laughs, brellas, headbanging beasts, stomping in the moon light, jean shorts, sun kissed skin, sick photography shots, smokes, picnic blankets, river side, morning hangover vibes, ankle booties, skies of lighters, mosh pits, new mates, smoke stained leather jackets, blood shot eyes, flushed cheeks, plastic beer cups, filthy faces & fucking ace vibes! Summary of all that…’Fuck yeah’!! Going would make for a veryyy happy charlie. Please & thank you

  97. kezia September 25, 2012 at 7:11 pm #

I love the colourful mood that come with the masses
I love that the start of Summer plays in every beat
I love that little to no clothing can be worn by us lasses
I love that the nights are chilly and the days full of heat
I love watching the smiles on all the faces
I love the comraderie, the tunes and the beat
I love the idea of dancing in daisies
I love that my festival boots are waiting and clean
I love me some bouncing with vodka and my buddies
I love even more that we will all jam with anyone that’s keen
I love the lights as the day turns to dusk
I love the morning wake up call, ponado is a must
I love the dirty swamp and the layer of gunk on my skin
I love that I’m all ready – all I need is to win.

Well I have not been granted the opportunity to attend any RTD festivals, I am really keen on it though… Would be an amazing experience… I am just use to the whole trance outdoor party though I hear that RTD is much more insane to the next level perhaps… Well let’s hope I can get a chance this year 🙂

  99. Romy September 25, 2012 at 7:58 pm #

My best friend is leaving and I would love nothing more than to bid her farewell with a RTD ticket and be able to have one last awesome party! 🙂

  100. Zoe Jancou September 25, 2012 at 8:23 pm #

What could be better than being and drinking in a beautiful place with beautiful strangers and close friends listening to amazing music? NOTHING.

Rocking The Daisies is going to be absolutely insane and the tweets and Facebook posts are just making me want to go more and more! (so well done to your advertising team by the way haha!)

Pick me pick me pick me pick me pick me! or whoever else you pick better be fucking grateful 😉

  101. Amy September 25, 2012 at 8:55 pm #

Being a student with a student budget and test schedule has really screwed me over.. with 4 tests in 6days (finishing Wednesday 3rd October)

RTD 2012 would just make my life! The timing is so perfect to enjoy good music with good friends and good times would be the most amazing treat ever after test week! I’d really love to see Bloc Party and just have a unforgettable weekend in nature 🙂

On an unrelated note- its also my birthday in October so I’m just throwing it out there if it counts for anything 😛

It would also be my first RTD and i hope luck is on my side this time 🙂

I’m in it to win it! Pick me! 😀

  102. Matthew September 25, 2012 at 9:02 pm #

I just love all the girls that walk around with neon paint all over there bodies and nothing else on but a bikini bottom that is all and i need to see that shit again this year.;)

  103. Nicholas Murphy September 25, 2012 at 9:07 pm #

IT’S THE ONE TIME OF YEAR THAT ALL MY MATES FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY(DURBZ,JHB,CPT) ARE WILLING TO GET THEIR ASSES INTO GEAR,LEAVE WORK EARLY ON FRIDAY AND MAKE THEIR WAY UP TO CAPE TOWN FOR THE MOST INSANE WEEKEND OF THE YEAR, BECAUSE ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY ATTEND RTD WITHOUT HAVING A FIRM BUDDY SYSTEM IN PLACE!

  104. Caylee Cook September 25, 2012 at 10:17 pm #

I have been to most of Cape Towns other outdoor festivals, and they have all been experiences of a lifetime! Definitely something cape town can be proud of. But I am yet to go to RTD, I have always heard so much about it, but each year university work has stopped me from going to RTD. But this year, regardless of my work i would LOVE to go, and winning tickets would just make the experience THAT much sweeter! BLOC PARTY, KOAN SOUND OMW!!!! So please consider sending those gorgeous tickets my way 🙂

  105. Chad Hudson September 26, 2012 at 7:28 am #

The best thing about RTD is that this extremely well organized festival provides a platform for not only me, but a shit load of other young professionals an opportunity to get LOOSE and jam to the best beats in the country all the while being surrounded by the massive vibe that comes along with it.

If you had to work out the percentage of young professional’s taking leave for the RTD festival around the country, I guarantee it would be extraordinarily high!

RTD, the best excuse to take a well deserved break…

  106. Jessica September 26, 2012 at 9:20 am #

For me, RTD is something special. It’s not about the music, the crazed drinking binges or the sunkissed skin. It’s about experiencing a festival so unique that you know you are apart of something, something that is changing the way we experience music and each other. Their dedication to being ‘Green’ makes RTD stand out for me. Not only do they run most of their power from re-used vegetable oil, eco friendly lightbulbs and green initiatives everywhere. By simply labeling the recycled bins, no matter how drunk people are, they know which bin to put in their used cups and food wrappers. With cleaning staff rising with the sun, cleaning the dance floor so that we don’t have to dance in filth and Sanitech making sure the toilets are emptied and clean each morning. Not only do RTD bring us a weekend of magical music, they are providing our generation with ways and means to contribute to a better environment. Lowering our carbon footprints while we tread barefoot on the grass. This is what makes them special, their conscience. That’s what I love about Rocking the Daisies.

    • Nick September 26, 2012 at 12:25 pm #

Sun baking down on my parched skin, my eyes blurred from the constantly dripping sweat and my mouth dry with dust. And I have never been happier. This was me stumbling around at Rocking the Daisies 2011. I went there expecting all sorts of things based on my previous festival and concert experience, and all my expectations were blown out of the water. From the well laid out camping area, the amazing dam, the delicious food options to the music. Ah, the music. I danced and sang my heart out to some of the best bands South Africa has to offer, and often had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. I returned to Cape Town burnt, broke and battered, and already planning RTD2012. These tickets will be the best gift I have ever received, and I really hope I get them

  107. Trisha Packham September 26, 2012 at 10:45 am #

What makes RTD amazing is its ability to reinforce not only my love for music but also for this amazing country we live in. You cant be there and not feel complete bliss. It’s the only place I can wake up, hanging like a bat from a night of listening to awesome live music and partying a little too hard with remarkable strangers and still have the fattest smile on my face. RTD is happiness, smiles, bliss and fun embodied.

  108. Richard September 26, 2012 at 10:53 am #

Rocking the daisies is simply awesome because it brings together people from all walks of life to make one incredible party. Hippies, jocks, stompers, “academics”, and ballies all rocking it out together and enjoying the festivities without any inhibitions or worries in the world. Great music, great people, lots of alcohol and a bush to spend the night in…What more could you ask for?? I have a lift there, I have a crazy group of friends going, all I need is a ticket! Hopefully Mr Cape Town can help me with that and make it the best birthday weekend ever!!

  109. Tat September 26, 2012 at 11:28 am #

The fact that a whole lot of South Africans who are passionate about local & international music come together on a weekend in the springtime to celebrate life. That’s what makes Rocking the Daisies super-frikkin rad.

  110. Luke Ngel September 26, 2012 at 1:18 pm #

    I’ve never been :”(
And I really want to go this year! I want to experience the awesomeness that everyone speaks of…

    AND,

One thing stands out this year – non other than GRAND MASTER FLASH mc-ing! :D!!!!

  111. Sara Colle September 26, 2012 at 4:03 pm #

RTD is amazing, it was the start of my 2 years relationship with my boyfriend and it’s the celebration of my very best friend Emma’s bday.
If I don’t go this year is gonna be tragic since we have been planning this for the last 8 months, we have stretch tents and a group of 25 peeps all going together, bringing carpets, coffee machines, lilos, and all sort of communal entertain toys.

But I need your help, bad luck has decided to follow me this past weekend, and steal my phone, and get 2 flat tires of my car. I am broke, broken, brokest now and cannot afford the tkt anymore. all my friends are trying to put their money together to buy me a tkt and it would be amazing if I would win the free tkt so that all the love coming from my crew will be rewarded, check here what they busy doing http://www.facebook.com/groups/362147330539687/
buy making me win 1 of the tkts you will make all those peeps happy, not just one!

please pretty please!! it’s a cause moved by friendship love, and rocking the daises wouldn’t be fun without friends loving each others.

I have fingers crossed, I am holding thumbs, I am hoping and dreaming of going, please help me out!

  112. Kelly September 26, 2012 at 4:39 pm #

The camping and all the essentials that go with it are what make this a rocking awesome amazingly unforgettable experience! I made a little acronym to show you how it is:

Refreshments! Drinks are way on the top of this list

One awesome best friend! Or 100. The more the merrier

Condoms. Does this really need an explanation? Didn’t think so.

Kelly. This is me. I need to be there, this is the most obvious one on this list.

Incredible amounts of gees. Yes, without this you are doomed!

Nonsense. Bring all the senselessness with you!

Gonads. Simply because one needs balls to experience this. No sissies allowed.

Tooth brush. For the freshest breath yet.

    Hugs! For everyone!

Essentiale. The only answer to my hangovers over this weekend!

Dynamite! All the more energy, all the more party!

    Alcohol. This is important. Very.

Ice ice baby. Keeping those refreshments cold cold cold.

Swimwear. Don’t we all want to see one another in this? Yeah, definitely!

Insect repellent. That’s right, you don’t want to get munched on.

Eats. To sort out our hunger cravings!

Sunshine! This may be hard to control but we can all pack a lil sunshine in our smiles

So now you know my list of all things to make RTD awesome, consider those tickets mine!

  113. Nina Bettendorf September 26, 2012 at 6:45 pm #

Rocking The Daisies is amazing to me because of the general atmosphere in the beautiful venue of Darling. The season of all things new and fresh brings a new dimension to how everyone reacts to one another. Everyone has a positive energy, and it is almost tangible.

This will be my third RTD, so please don’t break the daisy chain

    Love from a Cape Tonian

  114. Dominique September 26, 2012 at 7:27 pm #

    I wanna rrrrrock!!!

  115. Adriano September 26, 2012 at 11:41 pm #

I was there 2 years ago and missed the one last year because of work. Work threatens again this year, but should I win I will make the most of it to get off it and stomp my feet all the way to the mosh pit(if there is one) and have a hell of a time! RTD is an awesome event, and also may be the last one I can go to. Perhaps I may return home, so it’ll be a good farewell party!

  116. Lauren September 27, 2012 at 9:38 am #

RTD is one of the happiest spaces to be! with the mind-blowing band/dj lineup!!! the beautiful out-in-the-wild location (:(:(: and lets not forget the f.AMAZEBALLS people to share the space with. big love to all the people (including parties goers) that make this happen EVERY year!!!

  117. Matt Cowan September 27, 2012 at 10:14 am #

R – Rad times at the beach bar aint’t far from Ibiza, while I’m downing papsak by the litre.

O – Out of towners, jocks, hippies, creatures all coming to see ya, if you’re not there, wouldn’t want to be ya.

C – Coming together of people with music, to have something like this; we’re lucky it exists.

K – KOAN SOUND are the business, these laaities from Bristol are the full heat to get you stomping your feet.

I – International Acts, I’ll tip my hat to that.

N – Night time, is when you proper lose your mind, teeth will grind and the electro stage won’t be hard to find.

G – Good things are coming to those who wait, it’s been 12 long months waiting for my Daisies date.

T – Tame isn’t the word you’ll here come monday, rather, ‘fuck it bru, I’m bummed that’s done, hey.’

H – HOT HOT HOT, it’ll be when the beat drops, at this festival you’ll lose the plot. That isn’t a gamble, just watch how you’ll ramble.

E – Everybody will love Everybody, there isn’t one thing that’s shoddy. It’ll electrify your soul, taking you out of that hole.

D – Daytime is fun time, beers, boerie, bettys and boardies. I’m sure I’ll see beaters, but that ain’t really my feature.

A – Always buzzing, the grass seems to be humming. You can feel the anticipation for this ROCKING occasion.

I – Intimate lighting make for zero fighting, huge rigs and BLOC PARTY gigs, Carling Black Label once again taking over Darling.

S – Sunday is the day it comes to and end, but don’t be disheartened, soon enough RTD’13 will be right round the bend.

I – I’ll cry if I don’t get to this fest, there simply isn’t something else that better personifies the word best.

E – Early morning beers, greated by cheers, you’ll see smiles from ears to ears.

S – South Africa is alive, this festival shows we’re at an all time high, perfect time to say goodbye to my rhyme.

PLEASE MR CAPE TOWN, HELP ME GET TO 49M RTD’12!

I guess what makes it so amazing is being out in the middle of nowhere completely care free. Muddy feet, sandy hair, sun, beautiful people and of course the amazing line up! No boundaries, judgement or city worries, just meeting friendly people who all have one thing in common: they are there to have a big party!!!

    Slewing a few daisies 😉

Its my birthday every year at RTD and the festival never dissapoints. I have only missed one since they started and every year gets better and better!

Bloc Party on my birthday, YES PLEASE

  121. JadeAyla Rea September 27, 2012 at 1:08 pm #

The last RTD I went to was not last year, but the year before. After one of the funnest and best nights I’ve ever had, went to get some coffee and sit by the dam. Ended up sitting next to a couple.. drunkinly feeding each other tequila out the bottle. The memory still makes my stomach churn.

I would LOVE to be able to to experience another RTD, the atmosphere and people always make it one of the best out door parties… 😀

  122. Bodene September 27, 2012 at 1:20 pm #

I’ll be coming from the far far land of Jozi.
Everytime I touch Cape Town soil, my spirit is already ignited but to attend RTD2012, I actually think my spirit will explode which will result in an explosion of love, smiles and rainbows to spread across the beautiful festival!!!
I want to feel the love from the mountains, the good energy from the people, to be serenaded by all the wonderful music RTD provides and dancing for the full 3 days. God I love to dance. And to dance with my fellow free spirited peeps. Bliss.

  123. Oettle September 27, 2012 at 1:22 pm #

What is cool about RTD for me? Everything, because I’ve never been to one!
If you make this one my first, I will buy loads of chocolate covered raisins and make everybody’s party amazeballs ^_^
    Awe keep it real 🙂

  124. Drey Heemstra September 27, 2012 at 2:21 pm #

I dont think theres a need to explain why? in a long paragraph. RTD is just too much awesomeness and I find it would be constitutionally against the law to not allow me to receive some of this awesomeness! 😀

  125. Carla Rose September 27, 2012 at 2:22 pm #

I’m yet to experience an RTD party, I would love nothing more as I’ve only ever heard great things about it. Please make my day Mr Cape Town.

  126. Charlie September 27, 2012 at 3:08 pm #

Having never been to RTD I’d imagine the best thing about it is the build up. The palpable, shared excitement as you park your car. The nervous jitters as your legs go in one direction and your eyes in another. Being filled with a euphoric confusion as you and your mates frantically decide which stage to walk-run-jog-spill-saunter over to first.
Like a surf trip, I imagine it’s the banter before and the sharing of memories after, the discussions, debates, hangovers and stories from last night…. in short, I reckon the most amazing thing about RTD is deciding to go. And for that, you need a ticket.

  127. Nicole September 27, 2012 at 5:35 pm #

there’s nothing not AMAAAAZING about DAISIES!!!!!!!!

  128. Candi Botha September 27, 2012 at 6:14 pm #

I have never been to a Rocking the Daisies because I can never afford a ticket, but I have:

x Danced on stage with MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice
    *photographic evidence available

x Hidden stolen hamburgers and sweets inside of an Obelix outfit. *photo evidence available

x Temporarily hi jacked a school bus. (No pics, unfortunately)

x Pee’d off a balcony into a pot without spilling! *photographic evidence kindof available

I am a GUARANTEED fun time, and as much as I NEED those tickets, those tickets need me.

    PUUURDY PLEEEASE CUMAAAAN!

  129. Rehana September 27, 2012 at 6:37 pm #

From someone who’s never been lucky enough to make it to RTD what makes it stand out for me is the fact that it manages to combine a weekend of jolling and awesome music with the essential task of teaching us, the up and comming generation, not only how important living sustainably is, but that it isn’t as much of a las as people imagine and we can “party hard and tread lightly” — its more than a rock concert its about a new way of thinking about our world and our lifestyles

  130. Jeremy September 27, 2012 at 6:56 pm #

Winning free tickets from Mr. Cape Town as opposed to paying R600 at the gate 😉

  131. Justin Cohen September 27, 2012 at 7:32 pm #

awesome music and great weather (hopefully)

  132. Melissa Ephraim September 27, 2012 at 7:37 pm #

Eish mara…when music consumes me! And then you wanna throw in a tent, booze, friendships, roadtrip and the outdoors? Like, must I contain myself? NOOOOIT BRUDDA! Those are only the reason on my one finger (must divide it as ten won’t suffice lol). The concept itself is amazing and THAT’S what makes it ama-zing to meee-eee. It’s like our own Spring break but plaaaaas style, the only style. Jissssus The fact that there are sooo many versatile artists and a variety in genres is what gets me everytime. DON’T even get me started on the entire production, like i can’t even deal with the electric beaurrri. I think that’s why I suffer from FOMO around this time. I’m sooo impressed by Blocing the Daisies. They amaze me by combining music, atmosphere and fangirling sic individuals. whoooop. Make my body vibrate Mr C. 😀

I have never experienced Rocking the Daisies… and oh how i would love to! it’s my boyfriend 21st this weekend and he has never been either, and as part of his birthday present i want to buy us tickets for the festival:) it will make things a lot easier for me if i could win a ticket! I have heard so much hype about Rocking the Daisies …. it is a well organised party with variety… and a huge vibe that will make dancing under the stars, absolutely unforgettable… I can’t wait to Rock the Daisies… with everybody and anyone who is keen to have a good time! xxx

  134. dominique September 28, 2012 at 11:14 am #

I have only heard amazing things that leave me drooling. Would love to go with my sister. Have never had the opportunity, but if this one doesn’t work out ill make it next year!

  135. Paige September 28, 2012 at 12:52 pm #

Id love to go to Daisies, it will be the first time I go,
Apparently I dont wanna miss this one bro.
Its dry but you can drink it, being sober- i would not think it
as a savannah slips down my throat.

Ill borrow a tent while on booze we get bent,
While the beat seeps into my skin.
Ill wear Hippie gear, dance out all my fear
as Love will be the taste of the Daisies.

Red Bull as a friend allowing the day to never end
As we sink into our neighbour called the night.

The December Streets, I know them well, Fire through the window.
Desmond and the Tutus- ‘Sim sal a bim’ and Shadow Club is a definite GO!

Kongos will draw me, Bloc Party allure me
While the beats tickle under my feet.
The Dirty Bounce, Isochronous, put in some dub incorporation,
This will be the best event to rock our South African Nation.

We will be joined by song, nothing can go wrong
As we fall inlove with the world.

Im craving this event, if though it was Heaven sent
I will be the one who will kiss the ground.
Please may I have a ticket, I need my fix
I am addicted to the ultra beats of sound.

  136. Luke September 28, 2012 at 3:29 pm #

Rocking the Daisies is the best festival ever because:

1.) There are always more beautiful girls there than any other festival in SA. (Fact that the ratio of girls to guys is like 65% to 35%)

2.) It is like the start of party season, the sun, the booze, the bands!

3.)It is one of the best festival venues ever. The layout is always killer with the Red Bull tent to one side and the stage on the other.

4.) Mr Cape Town is gonna send me some tickets so I can go rock out again!

    Sweet dealio’

  137. Nicky September 28, 2012 at 3:44 pm #

yoyo its my 21st birthday that weekend and would LOVE a free ticket to make the experience that much better! would like nothing more than to be in the outdoors for the weekend so would really appreciate the ticket! LEGEND

  138. Chelsey Moubray September 28, 2012 at 3:46 pm #

Absolute Bliss! Mad music, Mates, Mud. The sun, the scene and the socialites make Daisies the only place I want to be.

  139. Tracy Taylor September 28, 2012 at 6:21 pm #

The sad thing is… I’ve NEVER BEEN 🙁 its been on my wishlist every year but never transpired.. So I’ve not yet had the opportunity to experience Daisies amazingness! PLEASE guys.. Bloc party is the ultimate band to see live!!!

  140. Nickita September 28, 2012 at 6:45 pm #

I cannot think of a better way to spend my BIRTHDAY than JAMMING MY FACE OFF to the sickest bands all in one weekend 😀 Winning this ticket will be a dream come true!

  141. Kate Leigh Cooper September 29, 2012 at 5:15 pm #

There once was a girl named Kate Leigh Cooper
Who is far from what one would call a party pooper

Her dream is to go and rock with the daisies
With her best friend and the rest of the crazies

Road trippin there to our favourite song
With heads stuck out the window singing along

We dont need proper beds or shoes
Our car only has space for our booze

Jamming to south Africa’s best bands
With our bare feet in the warm darling sands

Surrounded by some of cape towns most beautiful sights
Singing an dancing to the black handed kites

Recycling our bottles, to join the green revolution
And by drinking more we’re part of the solution

To see bloc party would be the ultimate show
And this is the main reason I would do anything to go

The vibe and the line up would blow my mind
Rocking the daisies is a festival one of a kind

    Dubstepping til 4am drinking redbulls
Without a care in the world, breaking all the rules

Lying on the grass watching the night fade to day
Then finding you’re tent after losin your way!

After 3 hours of sleep you return to the floor
Black labels in hand shouting for more

Laughing with friends and sharing the time
Which will become the memories that make up this rhyme

So please Mr Cape Town, make my dreams come true
Give me this ticket so that I can jam too!

  142. Nickita September 29, 2012 at 5:49 pm #

THE FATE OF MY EXISTENCE IS DEPENDENT ON ME ROCKING IT WITH THE DAISIES LIKE A RAINBOW MONKEY IN THE EYE OF A HURRICANE :/

  143. Brad Maasdorp September 30, 2012 at 4:39 pm #

    Aaah Daisies.

Redbull Dome. Mainstay Beachbar…Last year we were schooled by the pioneer of techno Kevin Saunderson…prior to that we had some ‘ibiza style’ fun at the Beachbar…and inbetween all that we tried, and possibly failed, not to lose our minds.

I expect nothing different this weekend. Grandmaster Flash and Agoria the two acts i’m really keen to see.

Besides the array of local selectas on offer.

    See you there MrCPT!

  144. Amy Leibbrandt September 30, 2012 at 8:03 pm #

What makes RTD amazing for me is that 2012 will by first every time at RTD, my first ever time at a festival, and my first ever time sleeping in a tent. Relieve some of that anxiety by getting me a free ticket so I have more to spend on forgetting that I am actually camping LOL 🙂

  145. Kiki October 1, 2012 at 1:19 am #

Wow, MrCPT, there are some amazing answers here! You really have your work cut out for you just READING it all. I don’t think I deserve these tickets more than anyone else, but here is my 2c just in case.
I’m a waitress at Fat Cactus and I spent half my night tonight talking to people about RTD. Explaining and selling the concept to foreigners even though I’ve never been. I am so excited about this event and so proud of it that I convinced most of the people I spoke to who weren’t going, to at least try go. It is such a wonderful collection of festival ideas and having experienced many small gigs and a fair share of outdoors trance parties I would love the opportunity to rock out at this amazing amalgamation of music and people, and sample what I’ve been promoting 😉

Keep up the good work Mr Moore

Hopefully see you among the daisies!
    Xx

I’ve NEVER been to Rocking the Daisy… and as they say, FOMO is a real disease… Last year I could not attend due to the inevitable financial crisis of the infamous “Student Budget”… and I simply refuse to have my dreams crushed and be yet another victim of the FOMO monster! Rocking the Daisy seems like the best way to kick of summer time happiness, have a “rocking jol” with great mates, and experience a “viiiiiiiibe” the way it should be… beer in hand rocking out to good tunes! I need these tickets! My life depends on it….#FOMO

  147. Natasha Clark October 1, 2012 at 11:26 am #

I have never been to a music festival. Just moved here from Joburg, dying to get out in the sunshine and relax without the little dudes – have an *excellent* sitter and a serious desire to dance. You have no idea!

  148. Julia October 1, 2012 at 12:01 pm #

It will be my first time attending a music festival and quite honestly I just need a break from my kids!

  149. Amy October 1, 2012 at 5:24 pm #

I would have to say my favorite thing about RTD is the effort put into accommodating and bringing together music lovers of all kinds, along with encouraging and allowing new artists to spread their wings and be heard! After all that is what we’re here for, great music 🙂

  150. Dario July 7, 2013 at 2:05 am #

    The people
The music: electro tents, goldfish live
The fact that everyone doesn’t care about how they look and just have a Jol and everyone parties with everyone
    The ability to make friends

    • Mr. Cape Town July 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm #

This was for last year mate it says [closed] but I will have a comp coming soon for the 2013 addition!
