Before we get deep into this blog post I think I should state my stance on it all. I have no problem with Woolies or these people, I just think that many of them are going way overboard with their comments and view points…Craig Stack from MyCityByNight showed me this whole saga and I am extremely glad he did.
Basically Woolworths SA (click on link to view fan page) is getting tuned to the end of time because they have stopped selling Christian /Religious magazines…Yes I am actually serious! I mean if all these people actually bought the product in the first place, I am sure it would still be on the shelves? I have nothing against religion, or people that follow the book of life, but in all honesty Woolworth’s is a food store and run as a business. If they decide they need more shelf space and want to pull some magazine lines, then so be it. Clearly they are doing it from a business perspective and not because they hate Christians?
Some of these comments are hilarious and I have posted a few for you to see just exactly what this argument is about and the extremes it has come to. On the bright side, all of my Jewish brasse will be stoked that the Que’s will be a lot shorter, seeing as though they aren’t going there to pray…I have got a complaint from a few tradional boytjies and they are furious that Woolworth’s is no longer stocking Kippot in aisle 3 😉
Have a blessed day everyone, may good be with you…
The funniest part of all is that my mate Ricky is currently in Woolworth’s taking pictures for me. Their magazine shelf has never been healthier…From cars – to food they have a host to choose from 😉
Fucking entertainment for days! 🙂
HAHA some of the comments are out of this world…
shot for the heads up boytjie, okes are going jus on the net for this one 😉
As one of the comment’s says, people look for reasons to complain. I’m a devote Christian, and i’m not in the least offended. POS or point of sale products are the worst in my opinion, just as I’ve got what i REALLY need i’m seduced by a lil packet of cashews or biltong. I also feel it can hold up the line, some old timer reading a Huisegenoot, when he should be heading to the open till, makes me proper irrate. I totally understand the last minute spend the shops gain. It’s down to profit, the Christian magazine’s clearly weren’t selling. if you owned a shop and the vetkok wasnt selling, you’d scrap it, for a masala chicken or something.
Great comment Fox…The story is going quite mad, I have about 30 ppl atm online from all over the world reading it. WOOPRA Tracking System is the bomb!
The WordPress Tracking system? If so, agreeed! its fucking hot! 🙂
For any website | http://www.woopra.com | install WP plugin and download exe from woopra.com 😉
The business!!!
Yeah, we got it on our backend…
PS: Shot for the linkage cussy!
cannot believe they took fucking kippot out aisle 3!!! god dammit! never going there again…
After all that moaning from God’s children, the Woolies Facebook Community manager has agreed to put the magazines back on the shelf. This came in the wake of using their 2 way street (Facebook Page) to determine customers view points on their business decisions… I guess they should employ a few more consumers then 😉
I love the expression. Everyone needs to express there own opinion and feel free to hear others. Keep it up 🙂
Shot buddy.
Can I buy this magazine online, or only in store?
As far as I know in store, but I don’t really read Christian magazines…
you are very talented.
Thank Steph x
