And the WINNERS are… It is a great privilege to announce the best performing restaurants after each Restaurant Week, praising the winners for the outstanding experience they have offered to our diners. For this year, the winners are:
The Food Network Best Restaurant Award 2015: The Restaurant at Newton Johnson!
Based on all restaurant reviews written during Restaurant Week on DiningCity.co.za, the online dining guide, the restaurant that received the highest overall rating this year is The Restaurant at Newton Johnson in the Hemel en Aarde Valley. Rated with a whopping 9.27, The Restaurant at Newton Johnson received the highest average score on cuisine, service and ambience. Previous winners of the Best Restaurant Award are Planet Restaurant (2013) and Buitenverwachting (2014).
In addition to the Best Restaurant Award, it was decided to also give special attention to the Regional Best, because of the exceptionally high number of reviews ánd ratings that were submitted this year.

Best of the Winelands: Durbanville Hills Restaurant (9.06)
Best of Johannesburg: AtholPlace Restaurant (8.83)
Best of Pretoria: De Kloof Restaurant (8.46)
The second award is the Zomato Best Dish Award. This award is based on pictures which were shared by diners on social media using the hashtag #ZomatoBestDish. From all submissions, 10 pictures were selected as finalists and uploaded for the final voting round on Facebook. We are proud to announce it was the beautifully styled dish by chef Marc van Rooyen from Marc’s Table in Cape Town that was voted the Zomato Best Dish of Restaurant Week 2015. Our fans loved the compressed beetroot terrine with avocado cremoux, glazed baby beets, citrus & fennel salad, beetroot chips and goats cheese beignet (and who wouldn’t?). Previous winners of the Best Dish Award are Central One (2013) and The Restaurant at Newton Johnson (2014).
