On the 10 April 2016 Cape Town once again made history on the historical Grand Parade. Drift City was off the chain and the promoters, Clippin’ Point, hosted the first ever ‘driftkhana’ on Cape Town soil. Never has anyone ever gone this large with a motorsport event right within the city center. Cape Town’s most talented drivers came out to compete for the R10 000 cash prize. The Monster Energy Crew really stepped up and brought out National Drift Champion Jason Webb who slayed tyres all day long. It was also great of Monster Energy to fly in Steve Baggsy Biagioni into Cape Town straight out of his win at Drift Allstars Round 1 in Abu Dhabi.
The Clippin’ Point crew has really set the bar high by hosting such an incredible event and plan on uplifting the quality of local motorsport. Nothing and no one can ever take away the fact that they are now the pioneers of local ‘Driftkhana’.
