Vinnie Paz – Season Of The Assassin [album review]

Ladies and gents … Philly rapper Vinnie Paz’s debut solo album Season of the Assassin is an instant hip hop masterpiece!

The voice behind Jedi Mind Tricks for 15 years, Vinnie returns with his forceful sound and battle lyrics.  And I haven’t heard him sound this hungry since Violent by Design.

Vinnie doesn’t hold back on the guest list either for his debut offering… Freeway, Block McCloud, Beanie Sigel, R.A. the Rugged Man and Ill Bill to name a few.

My love for Jedi Mind Tricks, beats and flow aside, came from Vinnie’s truthful and powerful lyrics.  It takes a strong person to say the things he does, the way he does.  A quick listen to the closing track Same Story (My Dedication) and you will see Vinnie’s softer side, a dedication to his father who passed away.

The album is truly one of the best hip hop records I’ve heard to date!

Give the following tracks a listen and let me know what you think…

Beautiful Love, Monster’s Ball, End of Days, Keep Movin’ On, Nosebleed and Same Story (My Dedication)
