On the 11th March 2017 Cape Town can look forward to the first event that will kick-start the annual national SMILE FOUNDATION cyclethon calendar. The Smile foundation cyclethon; powered by Planet Fitness is an annual event that takes place in Durban, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town. The event was founded by Denise Modlin who began the cyclethon challenge in 1996 where she brought two of her favourite things together; giving back and cycling.
“We encourage and challenge all of Cape Town to get their feet spinning to raise awareness for the incredible work the Smile Foundation do; and give back-while having loads of fun“ says Denise. The 2017 cyclethon calendar starts in Cape Town as a warm up to the Cape Argus annual cycle race.
