McDonald’s Long Street – Outdoor Ambush

McDonald's in Long Street got bombed with an awesome ambush marketing prank. HAHA I must say this is an extremely high exposure location for such a prank!!! Who doesn't enjoy some etra effort put into a campaign ;)

We all love the fact that McDonald’s has become our new late night bat cave, after all the debauchery is done. Well, the ones that eat the stuff anyway. I found this picture floating around Twitter this morning [Thanks to DontParty] after one of my readers rudely woke me up to alert me about the ambush marketing which must have happened last night some time? I wonder how long it will stay like this? One thing is for sure, they definitely aren’t Lovin’ It 😉 Search #McDonalds on Twitter for some more cool pictures!

Have a closer look under the slogan I’m Lovin’ It! There is a new little addition to the billboard which someone has added 😉

I'm Lovin' It ...not (HAHA)

Thanks to the guys at DontParty for this picture! It makes it much clearer!

    Why is that Ambush Marketing?

It is a billboard site that has been at the Top of Long Street for years?

Very clever placement in my opinion, right above where the new McDonalds is

I think that it is very well done. Well centerd. Does not look like vandalism at all. Possibly done by McDonalds themselves. Certainly will cause a “small” amount of publicity – not that they need it!

But how does something like that go unnoticed – you would need at least 2 people a ladder and a few coats of good paint to paint over thee red – this would be somewhat time consuming i think!

    Maybe I am wrong?

Would definitely take some time to remove, unless they used vinyl stickers? I also think it could be a little McDonald’s stunt, but who know! This is why I love the world of brands and marketing…Always something happening!!!
