Let down your hair and slip into something ridiculously over-the-top! Africa’s biggest costume party Mother City Queer Project (MCQP) is celebrating its 19th incarnation. I went last year to the one at the CTICC for the first time and it was fucking EPIC. No, I am not gay (or lesbian) and there is a whole lot more than just the fact that there are a whole bunch of people that bat for the same team getting loose! 5 dance floors at Cape Town Stadium, with an awesome theme. My lovers over at MCQP have given me four tickets to give-away to the event this Saturday 15 December and I want some of you hookers to join me on a Fantasy Fairytale. This will be my first MCQP, I turned 21 a week ago and was mortified when I didn’t get a ticket as a gift!:( What a phenomenal party where anyone, no matter their sexuality, can come together and have the jol of their lives!

my outfit contains of me dyeing and gelling my hair to somewhat of wolverines hair just messier.
facepaint of a mouth from ear to ear in bright red. claws with blood dripping. i will be shirtless (thanks gym) my back will be that of a person changing into a were-wolf. jeans, timberlands.
as for the fantasy part, i have a Black collar and leash where she will have on me!

I’m going as red riding hood with a twist! I got a RAD costume made that works for Lady Gaga and MCQP – my friend Ryan made it – the one Gaga wore with the big red hood and the red costume & red gloves.
Accessories like SUPER long lashes etc, to give the fairytale a bit of a dark twist…
Brave (as I never go out in a leotard!) and super duper cool!
I plan on bringing a little basket and give away treats…. I may even bring my evil wolf as my date….
We would really love to be at MCQP as it’s just the best place to be who ever you want to be, completely free and crazy!

My best best gay is going to MCQP as a lost sheep this year (probably wearing little more than a pair of ears and some cotton wool on his undies) but anyway he desperately needs me there as his Little Bo Peep, I know it will make his night if I can go! Money is tight before Christmas so I’m counting on the fact that the universe will send a ticket my way 🙂 Heard MCQP was absolutely epic last year, friends said they were super impressed with the decor – can’t wait to see this years setup!
MCQP is always a blast. Despite falling off shoes, flat on your back. If I had tickets to this year’s shindig I’d don myself as a ‘no room at the inn’-esque Joseph (accompanied by Mary, of course). After all, the lord (of cape town) is my shepard…

Time to let my hair down and put some hats on…I’ll be dressing up as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. I’ll have the freedom to go as crazy as I want to on this one. Let my curls complement my hats, let there be scarves and ascots, let there be clown-shoes and coloured contact lenses.
