Sitting in Woodstock at my mates on Saturday, thinking about not going to the party. The venue looked amazing from pictures on face book, but it was yet another far drive, but that didn’t faze because if I decided to go, I wasn’t going to be driving 😉 Around 10pm that night I left my mates house to go buy food and then head home.
On the way home, I received a phone call from my mate and he was enquiring if I was going to the party and I simply replied that I don’t have a ticket and I’m not in the mood to go anyway. After a 10min chat and some serious convincing, I said okay, I’m coming already. So we went to purchase some Nando’s and went home to grab some clean clothes.
After that I went to go sleep at my friend’s house, where we were going to get picked up at 5 am in the morning. Alarm bells going off on my cell phone at 4:30am, saying wake up wake up. After my cup of coffee and my first cigarette, I was ready to go party. Picked up at 5:30am, half hour after expected and we were finally on our way. Our first stop was the Engen one stop for some food, ice, domes and mixers 😉 We arrived at the venue at around 6:45am. The venue looked better in person than in the pictures. We parked 15 metre’s from the dance floor, which suited me just fine. Double vodka Red bull in my hand and off to the dance I went. The dance floor was super sleek and was packed to the max.
The first DJ which I saw playing was an International called ANESTETIC and damn he was banging it! I knew today was going to be mad. After the ANESTETIC was AYTSS and he had a 3hour show. (1hour Live and 2hour Dj). The day was very hot and the women were looking good. After AYTSS were my good mates COMMERCIAL HIPPIES into another International into another good mate HEAROOM, who I was waiting for the whole day. He set started off loud and clear and we knew it was time to shake a leg.
An hour and half into his set, it was time for me to go to the river, which I did. I spent the last few hours of my party in the river and was well worth it because I found some good friends and a secluded spot down river. Over all it was a 10/10, and the best party of the season. Thanks ALIEN SAFARI.
awesome looks like a good party thanks for sharing
it was fuckin messy!!! come for new year we doing 5 days for my bday! going hosh!!!
the party was crazy! definately one for the books! the seclusion of the venue from everything, the crisp system, clear weather and amazing vibe made this alien safari one to remember!
The music started off rather slow, and the beats were slightly techno for me on Saturday afternoon but as son as that sun went down…WOW! fucking A-class performance from all dj`s thereafter!
not the best written article Mr Cape Town, alot of repetition and grammatical errors but thanks so much Humerous for providing us with these weekly rounds up of the parties!
I have told the boy to please go to a copywriting course…Looks like I am going to have to stick to doing the writing and save Dave for the video interviews! Thanks for the input bra, even though you are anonymous it helps.thanks
anytime! the one on the 4th of December Vortex was very well thought out and written!
the bar at this party was stocked up well, service behind the bar was of a high standard as usual, and prices were reasonable!
i arrived at the party at 3pm Saturday and there was no ques or anything waiting to go inside. i saw the rooms that you could hire for the nite and they were not of that bad a standard!
stalls and food were decent, catering for all your needs from shwarmas and pizza`s to smoothies and ice cream cones. clothing, water guns and even sunglasses!
