The Windy City & White Collar Kiss @ Mercury Live

I have just heard a few things from this band and my word, not bad at all. Turns out I know all the okes too, small world. Catch The Windy City this Friday at Mercury Live!

I am sure you all remember that sick album launch we had at The Assembly a while back with The Arrows and White Collar Kiss. If you weren’t there White Collar Kiss launched their debut album and I was lucky enough to attend and, be given some awesome merchandise from the bands PR Manager Tammy Shuttleworth. Let’s just say the night got deep and the club was extremely full 😉 This time they are performing alongside a band that has only recently caught my eye. The Windy City.

The Windy City Band: Marco (left), Adrian (centre) & Jean (right)

I saw their name popping up here and there, namely on Texx & The City, a sick music related Blog about the Cape Town area, bands, music videos and just a whole bunch of cool music shit! I watched a few music videos, checked out their songs on Soundcloud and after contacting their manager Catherine Nicks, realised that I actually know the boys quite well after all. Here is a little bit about the band, a song or two, some pictures and information about their next gig at Mercury Live this Friday, alongside the squeeza Beth and her band, White Collar Kiss!

The Windy City

Here is a song I found on SoundCloud which is by The Windy City. Have a listen and tell me what you think. So many bands overlook being on sites like these and even Twitter and other social media mediums, such as Facebook and more so Twitter! Good to see these guys are online and in the thick of things.

Legacy of Luck by The Windy City

The band is made up of a bunch of 3 local Cape Town boys. I know all of them, went to school with 2 and actually play football with Marco, the hot guy looking one, quite often! The boy has some talent in that field too. Football that is, not sure about the hot guy vibes, but that’s up to the squeeza’s and not me thank God! Adrian, the lead singer and beast on the drums is apparently abnormal when it comes to music. He definitely has the tats to match the role of a drummer though, that’s for sure! The third cat Jean is a bit more subdued but they have clearly blooded the boy well 😉 They are both in charge of vocals, synth and guitar, while Adrian hits the drums and leads the vocals. I think he should enter Idols next year because his voice isn’t actually all that bad!

Meet the Band

Adrian Culhane - The boy is clearly a vital part of the group as he not only takes the lead with the drums, but also heads up the lead vocals! Not a bad voice and he is quite deadly on the drums too. Ladies he is full of tats too, just in case that's your thing.

Marco Correia - The boy takes charge of the synth, guitar, vocals and keys. As well as being a beast on the football field. A Jack of all trades maybe and for the ladies, he has the long hair and alternative/band oke style look. I know quite a few that would dig to play his guitar 😉

Jean - This bra is the final member of this young outfit and is no muppet when it comes to music. He ain't on the synth, guitar and vocals for nothing! Catch him and the rest of The Windy City at Mercury Live this Friday, alongside White Collar Kiss!

Cool post, but you left out one of the legs of the tripod of bands to be hitting Mercury on Friday. LA.VI is also playing on Friday; being the underdogs, they are likely to sweep you off your feet. Look out. (www.facebook.com/laviband)

@Nick Frost: haha awe, well I only knew of these two as I helped White Collar Kiss with their launch and am good mates with Cath the manager of Windy City. So therfore those 2 were the names I punted as they are headlining 😉 Underdogs are always to be kept a close eye on 😉

Guys, sorry for my ignorance, but check out LA.VI who will also be performing on the night! kill 3 birds with one stone 😉 Have a look at their Facebook Fan Page here —> (www.facebook.com/laviband)
