We have come to expect a certain quality level from Woolies and finding a cricket in your Ready To Wok meal after a long days work is hardly what we have come to expect! I was send some pictures of one of my new readers meals she got today, and, she was far from impressed. So much so I think she has just joined Twitter to try and do something about it. My oh my, did she come to the right guy.
Finding a cricket in a vegetable stir fry also makes one wonder…
I actually love the Woolies brand myself and chat to them often on Twitter abut products they should be stocking, or new products that I am yearning to try. This time though they have dropped the bar big time! Finding a cricket, or any creature for that matter, is something that should never happen when paying such a premium price for ready to eat foods! @Bvbiancan is her name on Twitter and if this is Woolies reading this, she expects you to get back to her asap. Just a heads up she is a fashion editor so I wouldn’t want to mess around with this one! Check out the cricket in the packaging below:
The image is not too clear but you can see that it definitely is a little Jiminy cricket in the mix there! They should have called it a “Ready To Walk” meal…
thats an authentic asian meal right there!
Haha, true that! Imagine biting into that sif thing though?
Hi Dylan, we’re very sorry about this unfortunate experience. Please ask Bianca to email her contact details to ayeshayon@woolworths.co.za – I’ll put her in touch with customer service. Thank you
Thanks, don’t say sorry to me it was not my meal. I would like to know what you think about this, as well as another fruit salad @DanielleRessel found in her purchase? How are these creatures getting into the packaging? Maybe your factory needs to be fumigated or cleaned up a bit? Thanks
My wife found a snail once in her plate of food which came from salad leaves bought at Pick n Pay. Also had a cockroach in a Debonairs Pizza!!!!
Jesus that is shocking. The snail I can understand because of the fresh produce (although it shouldn’t happen). I have worked in restaurants in Cape Town and let me tell you most of the “5 star” venues are ridden with roaches.
