It’s that time of the year again when RAMFEST takes over South Africa. With a total of 5 events spread across the top party Cities of SA from the 2nd-11th of March, this is bound to be the talk of the towns! Not to mention the fucking mad International artists they are bringing down this year, as well as the top local talent which will be showcased at the festivals across the Country! With names like Infected Mushroom, Netsky, AwolNation & In Flames you somehow just know the experience will be one to remember…
P.E, Bloem, Durban, Jozi and Cape Town better be ready for what can only be described as the most widespread festival South Africa has to offer! I have personally never been to RAMFEST before, but the innovation they have shown with their competitions and the big names they have brought forward is more than enough to draw me to the event. Being a working man these days it is also rad that it’s a one day event, so I don’t feel like an aborted bin baby at work on the Monday! They also have some top brand on board which will pretty much ensure that the set up is top notch and the venue/parking/camping is well organised!
NETSKY is known around the globe as the GOD of Drum & Bass and this is the act I am most looking forward to seeing Live. Even though I am a psy trance fan this guy does some demonic shit with his electronic tunes!!!
I have been given 4 single tickets to give away to the event and would love 4 legends to join my mate Calvin and I. So I must state why we deserve to go to Ramfest for free. hmmm
well lets start with we’ve been to every Ramfest except for the first one which we unfortunately missed out on. Since our first Ramfest, it has been the only festival that we have religiously gone to, don’t really care about any of the other would be rock festivals that happen throughout the year.
Then it comes down to the bands that are playing, Infected Mushroom is amazing, everyone knows that. But i think the real draw card for me and my friend is In Flames, this is one of our shared favourite bands, My friend has one of their album covers tattoo’d on his chest for god sake!
why we would make a good addition to your crew:
we are both heterosexual males, we enjoy beer, and pretty much any other form of alcohol, we like to party. that is all
this is OUR festival and we have been counting down the days until we can go ape shit to Infected Mushroom and IN FLAMES!
the only thing that could make the festival sweeter is not having to pay to go.

Ahoy ahoy! Ramsies fest has become close to my heart since the day I was left their on the Saturday by Non other than El gordo, No shirt , Short blue pants an alot of squid in me, with a bit of money in my pocket..
Then sun was beaming down Hot and people were in the Rivers ,I somehow found myself standing knee high shouting to no1 in the water I’m on Acid “Who wants to take a ramsies rush kak with me” asking people if they were making Poofies down their legs.. Then just infiltrating groups of people and providing laughs was about the best I could do knowing no 1, I just partied thru.. My body was tired by sunday, but then Toby 2 Shoes came to play and I gypsy’d the fuck out of Nekkies that day!! While people were chilling under there tents, i was wearing a wig and a pair of Herschel Gibbs cricket glasses… The music was great, people were irie and whole set up was just a vibe, never thought I’d enjoy bands… But the mix of everything was amazing..
Shit you decide if Ratty could join your crew, it’s all up to you. I’d love a 1 in 4 ramsies ticket too!

I’ve been a metalhead my whole life, attending every Ramfest so far, right up until the Jungala festival in April last year. There I finally discovered how amazing psytrance is, and have been a certified trance festival junkie since then.
However, I still love metal, and In Flames are one of m favorite bands of all time (Clayman is an epic album). I’m looking forward to this festival – getting a chance to headbang away to In Flames and follow it up with an awesome stomp to Infected Mushroom.
It’s going to be both of my musical loves in one party, and I will be going along, with or without this – it’d just leave me a bit more money for beer if I do have a free ticket 🙂

When I heard you were giving away tickets I almost wet myself! I have been begging my friends for months to join me at RAMfest but all I have been getting is “we don’t have money” what??? I woulld sell my soul to be there. There’s nothing like a day of absolute madness and I think I would be an awesome addition to your crew because I know how to party and I don’t mind getting dirty. How do i know this? I fractured my elbow on New Years Eve at Rock the River but I got up, dusted off (most of) the dirt and headed straight back to the electro tent regardless of the pain… which i have to be fair and admit wasn’t much due to my intoxication levels. Unfortunitely I had to wear a “home-made” sling after waking up on New Years Day with an arm I couldn’t move but still found myself dancing till my legs couldn’t carry me anymore that night. I know you guys know how to party but I’m pretty sure I can provide that extra bit of entertainment that will make it even more memorable. It will also be my first RAMfest experience and if I could just join you on this adventure… RAMfest will never be the same again 😉

I suppose the best thing would be to play the honesty card here: When all the metal fans were shooting excrement all over themselves at the announcement of In Flames, I was left thinking “so fucking what” – and then Ramfest dropped the bomb that Netsky will be joining – it’s safe to say it basically gave me a boner for a week knowing that the GOD of Drum n Bass music will be on our shores and I could be there losing face to him, LIVE!
Another point to make is that in 2011 I actually tweeted Netsky (@netskyMusic) asking him to come to Cape Town. He actually replied and said he is going to try and come in 2012. So it’s safe to say that I practically convinced him to come, fuck I even offered him a place to stay.
Down to the party bit, pretty sure there’s little convincing to be done here – I’ll suip, smoke and snort whatever the fuck you put in front of me and slew both ladies that accompany us on this little adventure. Being a one day jol, there will be no reason at all for us to hold back and save ourselves for the next day – BALLS TO THE WALL MOTHERFUCKERS!
And that’s my 411 – it’s up to you now to help a broke brother out and make my year.

I have never seen anyone jam SO hard for 3 solid days to some of the worlds most insane acts: deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, The Example, My Chemical Romance, Foo Fighters, Pendulum, Diplo, Arctic Monkeys, Bloody Beetroot’s etc etc.
Its been her mission to tick of as many international acts as she possibly can!
She would definitely jam the hardest possible till the last beat is dropped.
On top of that she’s studying Chem Eng and is absolutely gorgeous!!
