Kauai – Camps Bay

I must admit this place is always great. Service, quality, time, the staff and just the whole vibe really appeals to me. The manager is also a legend and definitely on top of his game!

I have been hearing a few up and down stories about the Kauai brand over the past few weeks and I thought I would go visit a couple of outlets to see for myself what the fuss is about. I must be 100% honest, I am not the biggest fan of their food but their smoothies…All I can say is WOW!!! I have recently warmed to their food a bit too, after tasting their Thai Chicken wrap and rolls. That new product is definitely a winner! I am very glad to say that after visiting a few stores, my choice for the winner was the Camps Bay branch 🙂 Nothing wrong, seeing as though I have lived in The Bay all my life and it is just down the road from my place…Oh and by the way I did not get paid to write this, just so you know!

The chicken Caesar is another winner which is worth a try!

I decided to cover a few specific topics which I look out for when I go for lunch/dinner at any establishment. These topics are;

The Location

There is no better location than Camps Bay strip when it comes to grabbing a bite to eat during Summer in Cape Town. Secure parking is available across the road at Camps Bay Football Club, the vibe is sick, hot chicks eat there and the view is second to none! It is located next to Vida E Cafe and gets a thumbs up from me in this category!

Camps Bay is a perfect location for this fresh, fun, healthy brand. If I had the money I would have done it long ago, it did cross our minds...

The Store

The store has a great inviting design and the outside couches always look tempting. The staff and more so manager (Clint I think was his name) are great and the service is reasonably quick. The one thing I liked was that our smoothies arrived in no time, which kept us satisfied until such time as the food came. The inside of the shop is clean, fresh and always buzzing. Really cool visual appeal in store too, with the posters, adverts, specials and new product launches that are advertised all around you!

The Staff

Friendly, smiling staff always make my experience more memorable. One thing I can say about this franchise is that the staff tick all the positive boxes when it comes to customer service, neatness and creating a relationship with their customers. Bubbly personalities were evident at every interaction and a special mention must go to the manager for his pro-active approach to my funny ice/drink habits. Thanks for being on top of things Clint 🙂

The Wait For The Food

The food was extremely quick to come out of the kitchen, even though there were quite a few people in store waiting for food and ordering. The smoothies were out quickly and that kept me and my mates happy until the main course arrived. Princess wraps, Thai chicken rolls, Strawberry Stingers and Gems were the favourites of the day. Oh, my friend Emma enjoyed some green hangover smoothie? Tell me more, I will probably live on these things in the future.

You cannot tell me this doesn't look inviting? I am actually going to grab a smoothie now before my football match because this picture just sold me.

Overall I was more than happy with my visits and am even contemplating approaching this fresh, healthy and fun brand about a possible partnership in the future. Lauren, I hope this gets back to you because I know you are involved at the company and I used to be your project partner (the dream team) at AAA School of Advertising 😉 Man do I miss working with other beasts like you! It sure as hell makes the work load a lot more manageable…sigh! Kauai passed my test this time around, although I can’t say the same for many of the other established brands around town these days…

That chicken – mmmh, rainbow chicken. That’s the same company that KFC uses.

    Their smoothies are great though.

Rainbow chicken for a rainbow nation…haha, maybe it is that sauce etc but they are second in that category only to Subway in my opinion. Osumo is shite!

When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a
comment is added I get three e-mails with the same comment.

Is there any way you can remove people from that service?
    Thanks!
