Lucozade

Lucozade may just as well have as much sugar as Vitamin Water, but they do not market themselves as a health product. This carbonated sports/energy drink is produced by GSK, a big player in the pharmaceutical market.

Lucozade may just as well have as much sugar as Vitamin Water, but they do not market themselves as a health product. This carbonated sports/energy drink is produced by GSK, a big player in the pharmaceutical market. Lucozade was originally produced by a chemist in 1927 and the brand has grown rapidly to become one of the leading sports/energy drink brands on the planet!

The Original Lucozade Range in glass bottles...

I habitually purchase the apple or orange flavours of Lucozade either to aid my hangover, or to replace electrolytes that were lost during sickness. Lucozade charges a premium price for their products and you should expect to pay between R10-R14 for a 330ml bottle. A few days ago my bra Calvin got me one from the shop, but it seemed something was different? Indeed it was; Lucozade finally released the new plastic packaging that they use in London, in South Africa.

Did you know that Lucozade Orange has a tendency to make kids hyperactive?

I have always been a huge fan of the product and purchase between 1-4 every week. I am now getting to the stage where I would love to organise a sponsor, or some free produce from this great brand! If anyone knows any big players at GSK please do let me know, because I was born to consume this mouth watering greatness! My friend Rene has just informed me that they get a cherry flavour over in London. Now my question to GSK and Lucozade, when on earth is the new cherry flavour going to be released in South Africa?

Arsenal have just signed a new deal to launch Lucozade Lite.

What sucks is that Lucozade costs double in south Africa ( a rip off) a 500ml Orange in the UK costs 70p thats R7.00 whereas it costs R14 for a 340ml bottle here

      Really? That is ridiculous!

So bleek about the bottle change that I hardly buy the stuff anymore 🙁 It was once my saviour, but now it is just another product clogging up the shelves 🙁 I mean even subliminally the glass bottle loos bigger. I know it wasn’t but first impressions last…And they have replaced that impression with depression!

I HAVE STOPPED BUYING LUCOZADE SINCE YOU HAVE STARTED USING PLASTIC BOTTLES.
I HOPE ALL YOU HEALTH CONSCIOUS PEOPLE WILL DO THE SAME!!!!!
PLASTIC CANNOT BE RECYCLED – IT’S HAZARDOUS TO OUR PLANET!!!!!!!

My buying patterns now that I look back have also declined heavily…I was a huge fan of the glass Lucozade and really think they should consider producing it again. Many people actually share our views, including 80% of my mates who all love(d) it! I would also love to see their Lucozade Sport product in SA, give Energade & Powerade a proper run for their money!

i dnt mind the packaging.. the product was the best! helped me through hangovers, flus and colds, and even when I was studying for exams!! Now i am in USA and i cant not find any thing to replace it :(! so be grateful you can still get some…

Yeah, but there is no comparison… Still the only thing that helps with my hangovers. I see they are sponsoring the Linkin Park SA Tour along with MNET, time to hustle a sponsor me thinks!
