Chappies Street Art 1/6 Stop Motion

I attended the launch of the Chappies Street Art Series yesterday in Woodstock and I must say, I was very impressed by the idea and some of the stuff I learnt about the brand! Did You Know that 6,000,000 – 7,000,000 Chappies are consumed EVERY DAY in South Africa? Mind blowing if you ask me, they actually had to stop advertising because they couldn’t keep up with the demand!

They are doing a series of 6 street art pieces with today’s being in Khayelitsha and the next at Cape Town Station… Then they jet off to Jozi to complete the rest of the series. They used a total of 17,600 Chappies in yesterday’s piece which took them a total of 15 hours to complete! They seem to have disappeared in no time at all judging from this image below they sent me. LOL!

I have included the stop motion video which is a time lapse shot over the entire 15 hour period it took to create the masterpiece! If you look quickly you can even spot me in the mix there, word! The campaign is based around the did you know facts Chappies fans could send in and they chose 170 to be printed on wrappers, from the 50,000 submitted! The entrants also get their names included on the wrapper, pretty cool… The street art series is made up of their top 6, so if you made the cut you should feel pretty damn special…
