Poo-posterous Night Out!!!

At least it was a single...The log, not the whisky ;)

The word preposterous means absurd or ridiculous and I think this definitely fits the bill to be classified in this category! One thing is for sure, when you go out to a launch of a night club, pretty much the only thing in the World you don’t want to happen is to shit yourself? Well if it isn’t, it is surely up there with the worst of them! I heard the launch was awesome and the music was out of this world. Wouldn’t expect any less from the beasts that brought this new location to us! I am looking forward to a few deep nights there this Summer πŸ˜‰

I was not there personally but I heard the story this morning just like all of you…I don’t know who the person was and to be honest I would rather not hear that information, but I do know she was wearing a mini skirt and that they don’t retain poo too well…Imagine being the person that had to pick it up. I mean, picking up dog poop in public is bad enough! I hope the girl is feeling okay today in case she got spiked or something, and, doesn’t remember ANY of what happened. Because that could scar a person for ages! So here is the picture for those of you that are sif enough to have a little peek. I know I was πŸ˜‰

First off, I heard the place was a sauna, sweat dripping, sound rig at 1/3 its capacity, the rest was sitting at customs, running out of shot glasses at 10pm is also not really ideal.

I’ll give this one a miss for now. wait for the ‘hype’ to die down

Thanks Paul. I didn’t have the chance to go and am not one to pay R120 for entry to anything. But I guess with all that hype they should have been a bit better prepared!

Yep, I gotta say I predicted that… I went to the media launch (or whatever it was) on Tuesday night. On the one hand, I was completely blown away. The place looked out this world – massive and spacious, loads of bars, awesome lighting + ambiance, and a sound-rig that was rumored to be out of this world.

But, on the other hand, the place was quickly running out of drink-glasses. And fuck, it was HOT! This was at an event where people were not even partying. I could have predicted a sauna on the launch.

HAHAHAHAH epic one, also heard the club was shit (excuse the pun) and it was hot, no glasses, to big, to many stairs, expensive, sound wasnt up to the “hype” etc etc etc..

I like the placement of that tumbler -giving the ‘poo’ a sense of size (that’s one hefty coil for a lass to squeeze out) … but what I dont understand is the skidmarks all the way down the front of the couch. I haven’t been to trinity, but when i do go I’ll be sure not to sit on any bronze coloured couches. My advice to the owners is change the leather – this is a whole new meaning to ‘marking your territory’. I hope the poor girl recovers and wears undies next time she over eats

HAHA the tumbler killed me too. Great little product placement by Jameson.LOL

I have not been either but they should definitely put up a plaque or statue or something to remind consumers about just whose territory they are chilling in πŸ˜‰

Ya unfortunately once again we have Eskom to blame. Aircon will be up and running shortly. Bars have been sorted. And sound Funktion One is in, everywhere you look.

Join in on Erica Elle; Euphonik; Protoculture and Dean FUEL tonight. Going to be a monster.

      Sounds Good Boyo!

If I can make it I will let you know. Nothing can be perfect, let me know if you need any other insights from people about the stuff they complained about. 100% agree about the fact that Cape Town complains about Internationals not coming, when they do brasse are too tight to pay the costs!

Still was an awesome 1st night with kick ass crowd and beats. Shit, sweat and shots were hiccups that shouldn’t take away from what was a good night. Great club for CT and up to standard with clubs I’ve been to overseas.

great to hear someone from the other half of towns opinion. thanks!

I did the lights there, and I know for a fact they are still about a month behind on the building. The AC still has to go in, the sound was a hired rig cos there’s hasn’t arrived yet, but they had to make a plan for opening notes. Once that’s all sorted the place will be epic

Naturally every place has a couple of teething problems at the beginning. Sure I wasn’t stoked about waiting to get drinks, but that’s not the end of the world considering it was opening night. A bit more training and I’m sure things will run well.

Price wise, R15 a beer and I was happy. Unless the oke kept fucking up on the price, I thought it was very reasonable for the location.

Fez can fook right off…even with the early problems, Trinity is miles ahead. It wouldn’t look out of place in Europe.

awesome. shot for the reply. I heard the drink prices are very decent!

Should be organising to go this week so can finally make my own assumptions πŸ˜‰

    Re Poop:
Shame the girl had an epileptic fit hey … big ups to her for still going out and partying despite having epilepsy!! Warning signs about the lights will go up soon i am sure.

Funktion 1 sound is in a working, bars are the most affordable compared to any other club, door price has come down to keep the 1000’s of Cape Town VIPs happy, and most importantly Cape Town now has options on venue to party at.

DONT BE A CITY OF COMPLAINERS … “NOT ENOUGH CLUBS, 2 MANY CLUBS, OLD CLUBS ARE SHIT, NEW CLUBS ARE SHIT” … take pride in your city and celebrate when there are new options that will only make the entertainment industry better …

    THAT’S MY 10 CENTS πŸ™‚

Thanks Sam, awesome reply. I have spoken to Ben and a lot of other people about the venue. People complain about high prices but when there is no entertainment worth watching (DJ’s) ppl always tune about there not being enough sick clubs. Yeah I heard about the chick, I thought that was the case, at least she didn’t get spiked!

The prices are extremely good and that is one point I must make. Places like Casa Blanca are great venues etc, but with Black Label at R20, Heineken at R25 and a single whisky at R25 who are they kidding? I will try come through tonight so I can do my own review and make my own assumptions and not listen to “the moaners”! P.S pump it more on Twitter, okes give a lot of feedback!

    Was there on opening night.

Besides Zabiela’s set, the event was pretty much a joke. Quite evident that the opening was ‘rushed’ as the venue clearly wasn’t ready to open it’s doors.

Nice looking place yes. Line up’s since then. No. If you want to make a difference in the ‘declined’ CPT club scene, you need to be willing to take calculated risks. Break away from the norm of ‘dj’s’ listed and be prepared to attract different crowds, rather than the posers who go out because ‘insert pop-ular dj name here’ is playing

As Trinity will realise in a short while, these same posers are as fickle as before and once they’ve had enough they’ll move elsewhere.

So, when’s Culoe de Song playing at Trinity?
