Vodababe Interview – Elektra

So where does the name Elektra come from? Well other than Carmen Electra. I was thinking on the lines of Stormers , storm , lightning is electric and Bang ! Elektra :)

Elektra and the rest of the babes in the tunnel of love.

I managed to catch up with local girl Nadia Tarantello one of the stormers dancers for 2010.

I picked her brain and thought you guys might enjoy a little background about the girl you see on TV entertaining the fans at Newlands every week.

So obviously Elektra isn’t your real name, what might that be?

 Nadia Tarantello

Where did you grow up and where do you consider to be your home town?

Born and bred in Cape Town. There is no other place I would call my home town.

What School did you go to and when did you matriculate, if you have 😉 ?

Camps Bay High School. Matriculated 2001.

How did you end up becoming a Stormers Dancer?

I went to dance class one day and was asked if I would like to take part in an audition for the Stormers dancers and lucky me I got chosen. 🙂

So where does the name Elektra come from?

Well other than Carmen Electra. I was thinking on the lines of Stormers , storm , lightning is electric and Bang ! Elektra 🙂

vodababes

Vodababes in front of the Newlands faithfull.

Are you a big fan of rugby ‘boytjies’, and what team do you support?

Vodacom Western Province, Vodacom Stormers and the Springboks. My favourite rugby boytjies are Joe Pieterson and Jaque Fourie.

What do you do in your spare time?

I try to attend as many outdoor trance parties as possible. I love little Gems like The Biscuit Mill on Saturdays and dinners out to quirky restaurants like Panchos in Obz.

Best Margaritas ever! Or coming from an Italian Family we own a restaurant called Pizzeria Napoletana in the heart of Seapoint which has been opened for 52 years. Best kept secret for yummy Italian food. 🙂

Otherwise I like to spend the weekend at my boyfriends holiday house in Clanwilliam . Oh yes! How can I forget. I love hanging out at Giovannis in Greenpoint. Yes. I love my espresso. 🙂

What’s the best/worst pick up line anyone has ever used on you?

Best: Is your name Gilette? ‘no, why?’ Because your’e the best a man can get.

Worst: I love every bone in your body, especially mine. sis

Where do you jol, so the stalker guys can catch a glimpse of you in your private life?

I don’t think my boyfriend would like stalkers having a glimpse of me 🙂 but I like to party at bang bang on thurs’, fiction, maybe a bit of Caprice on a Sunday and most of the psytrance partys around town. Also nothing wrong with a sneaky pre drink at Asoka.

Whats your favourite drink…other than papsak? LOL

Well Papak is quite high up there, but it’s gotta be ice cold and on a sunday morning for sunrise 🙂 otherwise I enjoy a good scotch, johnny blue is a favourite, on the rocks of course ;).

The usual suspects on game day

Not a bad lineup, whose your favourite 😉 ?

Let me know what you guys think and maybe I will organise a monthly interview with some of the other girls, because funnily enough I actually know 4 of the 6 and might just be lucky to meet the other 2 after all 😉

It is good to know more about the girls on the field that are making the fans go wild. We know much about the teams but what about those that bring the entertainment before, during and after a match.

Keep the interviews with the ladies.

“otherwise I enjoy a good scotch, johnny blue is a favourite, on the rocks of course”

For someone who drinks johnny blue, I’d at least expect her to know it isn’t scotch 😛
