Arrived at Pollsmoor at the tender age of 14...
I saw the Ross Kemp on Gangs series on television last night. I have seen the whole series and especially enjoyed the Cape Town episode about Pollsmoor High Security Prison and “The Numbers Gang”. I forget how grueling this was, so here is a glimpse of one of the hardest men in the show and the top dog in the 28′s. Hi i would like to find out if there is a dvd made on the number gangs of pollsmoor?
I know there is an awesome book, which is called The Number. Available at most Exclusive Books and am sure they will be able to give you a better idea. I do know there is a Ross Kemp on gangs episode, which highlites the overcrowding, violence, gangs and drug problems in Pollsmoor & the Cape flats! It is extremely educational and provides a platform to understanding this harsh reality and strict was of life!

He was raped at age 15 inside Pollsmoor and I think Pollsmoor was or was not overcrowded back in those days when John entered inside prisoner. I’ve heard that he is released and now lives in Kuilsriver, Cape Town and I got this from a person who sees him almost every week. This guy is now a changed and a free man and he’s no longer behind bars. He still loves his weed I heard. The person that gave me this info on YouTube had a brother that stays 4 houses away from John. I think he served more than 25 years inside Pollsmoor before he was released.
