Round 12 – The Orange Squeeza With Patron Silver & Hot Blood Energy

I personally love combining booze and energy drinks on the jol, and, to find good flavour combinations that really work well together is extremely difficult! But, this one goes down as a real treat. I hope you enjoyed the Orange Squeeza recipe and stay tuned for our next round At The Bar!

Heya Dyl, I hope all is well on the Atlantic seaboard? I suppose the Winter swell is kicking in solid now, it’s amazing the energy that the ocean can produce at this time of year. I really do miss being close to that sea breeze, riding all the beach breaks, dolphins, whales, sharks and all πŸ˜‰

This next drink is inspired by the energy we search for daily (and nightly) at the various bars and nightclubs across the country, music being the main factor that makes us get up and go, go, go! Obviously we need something to give us all a little kick-start on route to the party or even a pick me upper in the wee hours of the morning. These ingredients for the next cocktail are quite special, each in their own unique ways! I would like to thank Hot Blood energy drink and Patron Silver tequila for their involvement, as I see both brands excelling in the near future.

New Patron Silver is ideal for cocktails and long drinks!

Hot Blood is a new drink on the market and is busy testing in the Gauteng region, as well as in Mozam and other African countries. Please keep an eye out for it in Cape Town as it will be hitting your shores soon! I will also send you a case or 4 for your next big jol, accompanied by a bottle or two of the new Patron Silver. Patron Silver is a 100% agave tequila and the difference in flavour is astonishing! Remember if it doesn’t say 100% agave, it ain’t…

Watch out for Hot Blood energy drink landing on our Cape shores soon...

Orange Squeeza

25ml Patron Silver Tequila

25ml Gin

25ml Fresh Orange Juice

1 Lime Wedge Squeezed

Dash of Citrus Liqueur

Dash of Sugar Syrup

Method

Pour the ice cold Hot Blood into the largest glass you can find and add ice. You then shake and strain your mixture above, either with a 2 piece shaker and hawthorn strainer, or a 3 piece shaker you find in most bars. (stay tuned to my column for some video advice on how to use these tools in the near future)

The Orange Squeeza – With tequila & Gin it is the perfect drink to land your dream squeeza πŸ˜‰

Garnish it with something citrus and enjoy! Remember, using a sexy piece of garnish can make your cocktail a lot more visually appealing so have some fun with that πŸ˜‰Β  I personally love combining booze and energy drinks on the jol, and, to find good flavour combinations that really work well together is extremely difficult! But, this one goes down as a real treat… I hope you enjoyed the Orange Squeeza recipe and stay tuned for our next round At The Bar!

Energy drinks all have a very distinct flavour and combining them with booze becomes difficult at times, i did have a party with monster and Jose at the last Fu-Cha gatherings and it wasnt bad i must say.

I really do like the caramel flavour and golden colour that Red Bull have trained us to like, i think thats why Hot Blood works for me cause its exactly the same if not better for the nightlife scene.

    clubbing with Hot Blood works…trust

dude the Citroen patrone is amazing. When i was in the states, its $24 for the citroene patrone, 22 for the coffee patrone, 48 for the gold and $55 for the silver! SA prices r RIDICULOUS . My bro is coming down from NYC in January, ill let u come over for a few tasters πŸ˜‰

Hmm, firstly your spelling is shocking and secondly you BETTER give me some of that Citrus, it comes to SA soon apparently! $22 is R156 compared to the R480 or so it retails for now in SA, that is ridiculous I mst agree!!!
