Because a) it is the time for giving and helping the needy and you know that a hobo would appreciate alcohol. and b) I am sick of people always giving crap quality to the poor just because they live on the street doesn’t mean they don’t appreciate the finer things in life. I’ve been searching for an old Soco bottle to buy my boyfriend for Christmas for forever but it turns out they’re more expensive than my wallet can afford… this is by far heavens gates opening for me. It’s closing down on Christmas time, and the hype is all around. Shopping malls, petrol stations, clubs and the likes begin to decorate their halls with festive ornaments, all to celebrate a birthday of a man that disappeared over 2000 years ago.
Now,as a Jewish person living in South Africa, one that is even well acquainted with those that celebrate the above, you are in one, shitty position.
Understand that more often than not, a Jew will not celebrate Christmas, even if it is deemed customary by the country. They share no presents nor decorated trees of pointless nature. They do not eat the mighty Gammon you speak of, and must now sift through its masses in every shopping market to find an alternative.
Most importantly, they deal with all of this, and their friends’ excitement, with a never ending smiling, so when comes the 26 of December, all will go back to normal.
Give one to the Jews, they deserve it.
