Taste Of CT: WIN 10 DBL Tickets [closed]

One of my favourite food, beverage and hospitality events of the year is back, and although I don;t consider myself a foodie, I do love pointing people in the right direction when it comes to good food, drinks, quality restaurants and specials!

The TASTE OF CAPE TOWN is upon us and promises to be bigger and better than ever before. If last year was anything to go by, we are in for some mouth watering dishes, palate orgasms and a festive vibe! Coffee cocoa ribs, cured Blesbok and Memories of a Sweet Shop are some of the signature dishes and interesting morsels making their way onto the adventurous palates of festival goers this year. Pick n Pay and Taste of Cape Town are proud to present the city’s trendy, interesting, much-loved, and traditional restaurants, along with their genius chefs.

Held at the Green Point Cricket Club, the region’s most celebrated carnival of the senses will run from 3-6 April 2014. Better yet I am happy to announce that tickets will be the same price they have been for the past 6 years! It’s not often that you see events that don;t put up their prices every year, so big up to them for that. Eight pop-up restaurants and their chefs will be showcasing their masterpieces on different days. It brings with it a very adventurous way to enjoy the diversity of tastes Cape Town is known for. They will also be joined by the 7 main restaurants, which will provide the backbone for hungry visitors!

Bacon. How could anything taste better than BACON. That smokey meaty richness, fried in its own fat until crispy while slightly squeaking like the little piggy it is, and the little piggy you become when you eat the best flavour in the world.. Bacon! Now please can I have tickets to Taste of CT, to eat more bacon 😉

The bitter flavor of dark chocolate is the most memorable. Give it to me in a moist chocolate cake, a brownie or even a slab…if its dark I’ll savour it with every bite

  9. Kelsey March 31, 2014 at 12:37 pm #

Chocolate. Anything and everything which includes Chocolate.

Marcel’s English Toffee frozen yoghurt and I are currently in an 18-year-long relationship, and will most likely continue that way till my dying day. Ever since I first tried the flavour at the tender age of 6 years old, I have been thoroughly captivated by it, choosing to remain faithful only to my ET. Many a time I have been tested, but I tasted perfection the moment that creamy concoction touched my lips, and don’t need a second opinion.

When elderly couples and childhood sweethearts talk of destiny and finding ‘The One’, I understand what they mean, because I have that union with Marcel’s English Toffee.

So, my most memorable taste is not a very good one. The taste I will never forget is all thanks to BeanBoozled… Barf and Skunk Spray flavoured Jelly Beans!!!
Please help me get that nasty flavours out of my head by affording me the opportunity to taste some of Cape Town’s finest 🙂

Ok so I’ve LIKED and Followed everything as the competition requires – you can check it out, facebook, twitter, blog. EVERYTHING. So I think I’ve entered enough times.

The most memorable of my favourite flavours in the world is ginger. I love it with my sushi especially, also in in a good veggie stir fry.

Also, I really really want to win this because I’ve never been to Taste of Cape Town and I love food so so so much!!!

  13. Gregory Zeleny March 31, 2014 at 1:32 pm #

The most memorable taste and what I’m looking forward to at Taste of Cape Town is something we ate once at Luke Dale Roberts Pot Luck Club…it was “just mushrooms” but it was so much more. It was creamy and crunchy, moist and juicy but also so enjoyable all at the same time. You can’t even image how good it was!

  14. ashley arendse March 31, 2014 at 1:58 pm #

Most memorable taste? Must be when I ate grasshoppers while working at Meerendal Wine Farm. haha was a tradition among the chefs and I was the only waiter willing to join them. Was not half bad – quite salty.

  26. Cindy Rakolojane April 2, 2014 at 10:47 am #

I closed my eyes and imagined the flavour of the beautiful variety of fish that Cape Town offers. The tantalising aquamarine taste of the hake or calamari one could have. It leaves one in a daze of ocean goodness. Every bite envelopes me in a beautiful trance. A flavour to remember.

  27. Damiana April 2, 2014 at 11:23 am #

Nothing beats the taste or flavour of dark chocolate oozing out of a freshly baked chocolate fondant. Yum!

  30. dawn gondo April 2, 2014 at 2:05 pm #

Its the taste that cannot be described. You taste it first with your nostrils which draw you to it, then your eyes are overwhelmed by what they see. Then as the food touches your tongue it is just an explosion of taste and you are wowed away into food paradise.

  31. Matthew Stretch April 2, 2014 at 2:24 pm #

I once ate teriyaki bacon. Foodgasm.
