US folk-rock stars The Lumineers will make their South African debut this December brought to you by Virgin Mobile South Africa, 5FM and Seed Experiences. The Lumineers will perform at Cape Town’s iconic Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on 4 and 5 December, at already sold out concerts, and at Johannesburg’s Emmarentia Dam on 6 December.
To celebrate The Lumineers first ever South African appearance, Virgin Mobile is giving away 2 tickets to see the band LIVE in Cape Town, at their SOLD OUT show this Friday, 2 December! Tickets went for around R475 on Webtickets, and with NONE left, these are pretty much GOLD!
The Lumineers became a success story in their native US with their 2011 self-titled debut album. The album gave the band international recognition, selling over 3-million copies, and over 5,5-million single downloads of their debut single – and arguably the band’s most famous song to date – ‘Ho Hey’. Their music has been described as classic and genuine, raw and unique. They mix flavours of folk, alternative rock, Americana and indie, cutting them with a rustic charm. The band was nominated for both “Best New Artist” and “Best Americana Album” at the 2013 Grammy Awards and has played to sold-out shows all over the world.
