Stellar Organic Wine Cellar is situated 275 km up the West Coast, just outside of Cape Town. Stellar is the largest producer of organic wine in South Africa, as well as being the UK’s no.1 organic Wine brand. So what exactly is organic wine?
NSA wines are growing on consumers and have a number of beneficial health properties.
Organic wine is produced without the use of harmful chemicals, pesticides and fertilizers. The Stellar range is also Vegan friendly, as all the grapes are hand picked. This ensures no bugs, chameleons or insects are included in the crushing process and the wine is safe in that regard! Stellar produces 2 main wine brands, namely the entry level Live-a-Little brand and then the more premium Stellar Organic brand. They have recently introduced an organic Sparkling Wine, as well as a dessert wine, named Heaven on Earth.

Stellar Organics is a part of the Fairtrade initiative, which sees a percentage of sales go back to the farm workers and their families. The Stellar Organic range of red wines are all NSA (non-sulphur added) products and the extracting of these sulphates allows for less of a hangover, helps with gout and respiratory problems. These wines are available at Ultra Liquors, Tops, Spar, Midmar and Wellness Warehouse. If you have some spare time on a Saturday morning come past the Wellness Organic Market in Kloof Street, across the road from Hudson’s Burger Joint!
