A few months back I did a review on the Unreal Breakfast Special at the Spur in Arthur’s Rd, Sea Point. I won’t beat around the bush here, but let’s just say it was too big a mouthful for a few of the locals. Now, I did mention that I would still always go back to Spur, because I have grown up admiring the nostalgic South African brand. But I accept that being a blogger comes with a few haters. That’s life and please read the initial story here: [Spur Breakfast Special Review].
On Sunday I went to the Arthur’s Spur with my brother and pops, and, I am glad to say the service has improved by leaps and bounds. I am not going to say it was solely my article which jacked the store up, although I did receive numerous calls from management, which showed me they actually did care about what their loyal customers experienced! We arrived to a fully packed restaurant and that already gives one the indication that the food may be a bit slower than usual, but not this time. We all ordered different variations of the famous Goodie Burger. I got a Goodie with a side of pepper sauce, my boet got the same but his sauce was the traditional mushroom, whilst my pops just went with the old favourite from the menu, drizzled with the mushroom sauce and a slice of pineapple.
I will admit it was by far the best meal I have ever had at any Spur in over 20 years! The service was quick, the beers were cold, the burgers were cooked to perfection (medium) and the time we waited for our food was not long at all! It was about 30 minutes after arriving and we were all done, plates were clean and the bill was on the way. It just shows that a little extra effort goes a long way to wow customers and you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be sending this on to the Spur management! They deserve full recognition and praise for turning the service problem around ten fold.
The power of social media is growing daily and it just goes to show that there is definitely a place in this world for both blogger’s and brands alike, to live together in harmony. Provided the service was as good as it was at The Arthur’s Spur this weekend! Thanks guys, I really appreciate the great experience and will be back on Monday for your famous 2 for 1 burger special. I hope you make it a Goodie 😉
Maybe they knew u were mr cape town and mad sure everything was 110% for you ….
PFFT I highly doubt it, but if that is the truth I am definitely not complaining 😉
Thanks Dylan!
